  1. You little fucker' date=' we have to pick that out with our fingers! Next time either chuck in the toilet bowl or use the fire exit to make it outside.

There have been 5 atom gigs, and 2 of them were in the 'old' Moorings before the refit. The first ever was on Sat 28th June 2003 with 48K. I think that was before Dan joined.[/quote']

    Shite, sorry man....

There was someone in the cubicle.....I'd be happy to come and lick it off next time...

Nah, it went down the kind of urinal hole thingee, and it was all liquid anyway, so all the mess was spared.

  2. Aye, this gig was a fucking beast!

Except for bashing my head off the amp at the front of the stage numerous times and somehow managing to vomit in the Moorings urinal.

But other than that, Black Atom were top notch as always, even without Rass around, and like, Onion Terror, the music isn't really my thing, but they have so much charisma/stage presence, it's difficult not to be taken in by it- very entertaining. Today We Fight played a strong set too, and I'd definitely see them again, given the opportunity.

Overall a really enjoyable night- was it the first time Atom had played the Moorings?

  3. Mmhmnn, it depends, I think on who is promoting it, etc. Sometimes it's over 18s, sometimes not, the bouncers are odd there. If you're underaged and don't get in, there are gigs on tonight at the Moorings and Kef, which do allow under-18s.

  4. My problem is that I'm so volatile. I can love being at the centre of attention, confident, involving, enthusiastic, but other times, it's the shy/withdrawn side. I suppose the reason I drink is to cloud over the unsociable part- like, meeting new people, developing friendships, all that shit, it takes me a long time to 'open up' properly, alcohol just takes away that inhibition, albeit temporarily. It's like, there's something about getting drunk with your friends- it forms bonds, or seems to in my circle at least. Had some great drunken nights, and some shitty ones too. I don't like the way that it's so dependent on circumstance. So uh, the verdict is probably: good in moderation, but negative in excess, like most things.

  5. Apocalyptica- Self-titled

Blind Guardian- Nightfall on Middle Earth

    Tales From the Twightlight World

    Cacophony(??)- Speed Metal Symphony

    Go Off!

    Ensiferum- Self-titled

    Iron

    Iced Earth- Dark Genesis

    Primal Fear- Black Sun

    Devil's Ground

    Sonata Arctica- Silence

    Stratovarius- Dreamspace

    Fright Night

    Symphony X- The Damnation Game

Not loads, but enough to have a slight grasp of the genre.....

  6. Yeah' date=' but if she's only mentioned in a small section of it, it would mean searching the book pretty thoroughly.[/quote']

I'm re-reading this at the moment: Nina appears near the beginning of the book, around the first 4 or 5 chapters. She's Renton's teenage cousin, and her chapter concerns the funeral of her Great Uncle, when she mistakingly thinks the body is alive, but it's because of the electric blanket, haha. I think she does appear later on though too, at Billy's funeral.

On the subject of Irvine Welsh, they're all great reads, but Marabou Stork Nightmares does it for me moreso than the others- it has a more interesting insight to the human condition, and it's a little more abstract, or maybe it's just the way I seen it...........

  7. I'd definitely be up for something like this.......

Haven't listened to THAT much hardcore, but I really like the stuff I do listen to (Minor Threat, Sick of it All), and really enjoyed some of the recent GFN? gigs at the Moorings, like the Legacy etc. Also a huge fan of Atomgevitter's live set, and the demo/split Filthpact 7". I listen to a lot of thrash, so that would probably compensate for the speed thing....

  8. Mhmmn, nipped in quickly on the way home, caught about 2 Everwicked songs and about 20 minutes of MOTH.

Everwicked's sound was too muddy for my liking, but their songs seemed to work, should get better in time.

Man of the Hour were good at what they do, and their arrangements were good, but I didn't enjoy the songs so much, would probably go see them again though.

Didn't stick around for Atom because I suck....

Nah, just buses, plus the fact that I was alone etc. but I'm sure Atom were as strong as ever.

(From the cowboy hat-clad, unsociable looking child.... )

  9. Yeah, this gig was brilliant, definitely one of the best this year.

Seen Filthpact for the first time, fucking impressed, and managed to squeeze some money for the Atomgevitter split- we need to get a Filthpact/Atomgevitter gig up here!

Allergo were as strong, if not stronger than when I seen them in Moshulu a while back, put on a good show.

We Shall Be Blessed- first gig?! I'd definitely go see them again, even though I thought the vocalist spoke too much between songs (maybe because of lack of songs?), can only see their sound getting better as time goes on.

Didn't stay for the Great Deciever because I had to go and catch a bus, but from the comments here, I wish I had.....

    I'm a cunt...
