  1. I remember thinking: "I'd give my left bollock for some one braver than me to lob a bottle off Jad Fair's coupon...."

I also thought "I've never wanted a beer more in my life"' date=' because, if I remember rightly, we were on the ginger variety that night.[/quote']

Lol! Yes indeed...hahahahahahaha. And the two of us, taller than everyone in the venue, both wearing Smashing Pumpkins "Zero" tshirts...ah good times!!

  2. Ok, so Ive noticed a few best of/worst of/favourite threads here in the last few weeks, so here's my input.

The best songs with numbers in the title. Can be written or in numerical form, but certain things don't count. To take a random example, "The Only One I Know" doesn't count because it doesn't use "one" in a numerical sense.

Pointless i know but im at uni and bored...

    Ill get the ball rolling:

    Manic Street Preachers - 4st. 7lbs

    The Smashing Pumpkins- Thirty-three

The Cure - One Hundred Years

    Interpol - Obstacle 1

    Interpol - Obstacle 2

  3. I remember telling some mates of mine that TF would be playing with JF and it would totally different to a normal Fanclub show. But they still went and got annoyed cos they never played the hits! Some people just dont read posters or listen....

They could have played one or two! I was young and innocent back then! Id have given my right eye for "alcoholiday" to close the set that night!

  4. Fucking hell! If they come...I was all excited at seeing Teenage Fanclub a few years back for the Triptych, only to find they brought along Jad Fair and played zero of their own songs. But please Thurston, erase those memories!

  5. The bouncers at moshulu' date=' the moorings, drakes (r.i.p) and the lemon tree all seem to be pleasant chaps/ladies. they are at least understanding and give an heir of professionalism and seem to handle situations with common sense instead of resorting to thuggery or stupidity.

Triple Kirks/Exodus on the other hand seem to have a breed of shitheads akin to those mentioned by Flash. I have also seen it in other establishments too, a lot of these guys seem to do it as some sort of power trip and for management to back them up in cases of wrongdoing just gives these pricks the impression that they can get away with it all the time.

   [/quote']

    So, so bitter.... :D

  6. Ive noted Alkaline hasn't had the guts to tell his bad experience - on my birthday a few weeks back me and some of my mates went to TK's then Exodus after a party at Hogshead. The aforementioned forumer, aged 24, went ahead with a few others. When I got in an hour later, no problems, not even asked for id, I discovered big "Alk" had been denied because he looked under 21 (ridiculous). After calling a bouncer a twat he promptly went home to get his passport to prove it. A round trip of approx 30 minutes later, he returned to be let in, only for the "twat" bouncer to appear in the doorway and deny him entry. The irony is im only 19 and no questions asked!

Feel free to edit this Phil!

Oh...its annoying when bouncers deny you when you're a regular...they must recognise people and realise theyre not potential troublemakers...
