  1. its true. i kiss men.

and fuck' date=' they're ace. hopefully Dave will be able to do it, and they'll visit the 'deen in 2005. how fucking cool![/quote']

indeed.they were supposed to play the old drakes years back and a load of us turned up only to find their van had died on some motorway miles away if i remember correctly.one of the tightest bands i've ever seen and the vocalist is devastating.would be pretty scary to witness them in the confines of drakes!

  2. yeah. I would have said they were more tech. alot more like emm' date=' a slower Assuck with different vox. I dunno, maybe I was kinda too hyped in anticipation to see Pig Destroyer. but I really didn't think we were like them.[/quote']

see, i think they sound nothing like assuck, even slowed down! anyways, it doesnt matter you big poof.

i thought there was no way narcosis would live up to what everyone had been saying, but holy fuck they did.

  3. aye, a really great gig, every band blew me away.

i honestly loved TFD, but a lot of what they do and say is pretty confrontational and designed to irritate and piss people off so i'm sure they wont be losing any sleep! personally i rate rich hoak way up there, his drumming on sounds of the animal kingdom is insane, espicially since he comes from a jazz background.notice his snare?

  4. you say both bands...who are you referring to aside from SPD?

'both the bands integrity and motives' as in SPD's integrity and motives.although, having seen MMW live now, i cant say i'm impressed with them either, a few cool screams and riffs asides.i wish bands wouldnt hype themselves, it rarely works sorry to say.

  5. novelty

i've always described SPD as a novelty band, as do many others who 'know the music'.i mean novelty in the sense that they peddle bland, unoriginal noise which sounds like a hundred other noisy bands but sounds 'extreme' and 'crazy' to people who havent heard anything like that before.aberdeens token grind band for people who dont like grind.no big deal and certainly nothing i'd stain my knickers over.

IMO weak uninspiring individuals cant make powerful, devastating music.i plant a fucking huge question mark over both the bands integrity and their motives.i have no beef with people liking them mind, to each their own etc.just a contribution to the thread from someone honest enough to say what they really think as opposed to what would be easiest to swallow.

  6. they have turned annihilation into a nursery rhyme, with one understated guitar line running through the second half! its pretty cool but they have butchered fear's 'lets have a war' and black flag's 'gimme gimme gimme' .the rest of the record is pretty boring and i absolutely love APC so thats saying something.the only thing that got me hard was the stunning remix of pet from the thirteenth step record.APC v's NIN i'd say.ironically (and its open to interpretation) but thats an anti war song i believe, and it shines above the covers they have recorded, by miles! hopefully that would get people to check out apc's first two albums beyond this.

for me, the beauty of a perfect circle lay in the ethereal, entirely personal nature of the lyrics and the way they didnt feel the need to make standpoints and observations about the world today (at least not in an entirely obvious, in your face manner).now they have fell squarely into the realm of musical political protest in an exceptionally ham fisted and boring way, and for me that absolutely fucking sucks.i know its not my band to say, but i'm really disapointed nonetheless.

"Don't fret precious I'm here, step away from the window

    Go back to sleep

    Lay your head down child

I won't let the boogeyman come

    Counting bodies like sheep

To the rhythm of the war drums

Pay no mind to the rabble

Pay no mind to the rabble

    Head down, go to sleep

To the rhythm of the war drums

Pay no mind what other voices say

They don't care about you, like I do, like I do

Safe from pain and truth and choice and other poison devils,

See, they don't give a fuck about you, like I do.

Just stay with me, safe and ignorant,

    Go back to sleep

    Go back to sleep

    Lay your head down child

I won't let the boogeyman come

    Count the bodies like sheep

To the rhythm of the war drums

Pay no mind to the rabble

Pay no mind to the rabble

Head down, go to sleep to the rhythm of the war drums

I'll be the one to protect you from

Your enemies and all your demons

I'll be the one to protect you from

A will to survive and a voice of reason

I'll be the one to protect you from

Your enemies and your choices son

    They're one in the same

    I must isolate you

Isolate and save you from yourself

Swayin to the rhythm of the new world order and

Count the bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums

    The boogeymen are coming

    The boogeymen are coming

Keep your head down, go to sleep, to the rhythm of the war drums

    Stay with me

    Safe and ignorant

    Just stay with me

Hold you and protect you from the other ones

    The evil ones

    Don't love you son,

    Go back to sleep "

nevermind, new tool record come new year hopefully.

  7. I've also still got the long sleeve for "novus opiate"' date=' bought at reading '92...some nutter would probably pay shite loads for that too (holes and all!) he he

how did you get the staff passes ? (roadie ? lugger ?)[/quote']

heh, i have a very old 'bite me' tool shirt, with no shoulders left its been worn so much.

got the passes from the SJM tour manager (who happened to have been the bassist in southern death cult!!), very cool guy.the run in was with the uk tour manager on tool's side of things, who wasnt best pleased.fred durst was apparently backstage after their own glasgow gig and barrowland security were having a proper fit.

  8. oh yeah...I must only have been concentrating on the live tracks !

As for the Peach Cover' date=' I've got the original Peach EP where that song came from..I got it in a one up sale when it came out (10p)...hehe

    [/quote']

nice little artifact for ebay and all the tool obsessives! i had two really cool tour staff laminates from the lateralus tour with the then new logo on them, unceremoniously taken from me by the irate tour manager as backstage access was attempted and denied.the plan was to get them signed, then sold, to pay for my tool tattoo.

  9. tool - salival

that only has a few live tracks but the cover of 'you lied' by peach is amazing.it sounds like a hymn in places and maynards voice is astounding.

Setting sun can't shine, now you're gone

    Inside sleeping, my heart beating

You know that you tried to hide it

Couldn't you have said what you meant? Oh...

Time heals, time congeals around us

    Endless hours of wasted moments

    Understanding, not demanding

Your eyes tell what you feel inside

Setting sun can't shine, now you're gone

    Inside sleeping, my heart beating

You know that you tried to hide it

Shouldn't you have said what you meant?

    you lied

lyrics are a bit panny though!

  10. Nine Inch Nails - And All That Could Have Been.

aye.i reckon the dvd release is almost untouchable in terms of everything, from the packaging to the stage sets to the choice and performance of songs.even the actual mixing down of ten odd shows into one is inspired, done on their own home computers as well.only ever seen ministry do likewise.fucking ace.

  11. Without getting involved in you fella's kerfuffle' date=' I would consider a singer who says hello to you when you enter the venue, shakes your hand after the gig (like he did to everyone in Drakes) and stops for a chat after selling you a t - shirt and CD (and chucking in a couple of patches as well) a nice guy. The rest of the band were really sound as well.

Just like they were to me and my mates the last time they were up.[/quote']

aye, thats all well and good but the comments i made before were relevent to how he acted towards myself and my friends last time, i'm sure he can be a generally nice bloke but he wasnt to several of us so the conclusions drawn by me were the ones i stated.its no big deal, it was bloody years ago and hardly worth losing sleep over on anyones part!some people get on, some dont, some people like me, some dont.its the same the world over if angry dave cant cope with other peoples opinions he really shouldnt be so opinionated himself.

you arent the marsh who is mates with paul samat are you?

  12. Jesus. I thought we were over this. So I guess that apology of yours wasn't as sincerely felt as you'd said.

jesus.i thought we were over this.i guess you saying 'kinda lays to rest the argument about assert' means you cant actually deal with someone having a difference of opinion from you.

you owe me an apology now for picking a fight.its only fair.

  13. If you were to hang out with me' date=' you'd see that I am not the person you believe. A lotta my time (with friends) is spent just talking about nothing - just joking around, talkin bout shit. However, if we're talking politics, then that is something else. You also gotta consider that I don't know most of the folks here. As I say, you got me all wrong.

    Anyway, take it easy.[/quote']

see, i cant argue with that.sorry for being a cunt, i could have been less full on i suppose.i rarely apologise for shit like this so take it as meant.

  14. Never a truer word spoken. Hurry up with more Corps' date=' please.[/quote']

i have quite a few of the third release left, the others are all gone.number four and five are on the way, maybe a fortnight.they are extremely grim.i'll put aside for you if you want rob.
