i always thought punk was about doing whatever the fuck you wanted and that still applies as long as you follow the rules.
-
blaming vans for exploiting the punk community is like blaming dr martens and bic razors for all the hidings folks have recieved at the feet of nazi skinheads.
the product isnt the problem, its the people that buy the product.if vans are such bad cunts, why do a million punk kids or whatever still embrace them? punk isnt what is used to be, fact.
i dont really care either way, i think any scene that rates community/fashion/politics/limited edition coloured vinyl over the actual music should be swiftly burnt down.somewhere along the way people missed the point, which is equal parts funny and sad.
cant go wrong with ninjas though, black clad flexible demons of shadow and night.
this isnt directly picking a fight with you dave either before you start making voodoo dolls, aimed at the thread in general.

Unkind will kick their ass. Saw the guys with Sawn Off last time they came through here.
nah.i saw then too, great gig but they are nowhere close to the wall of noise that is narcosis.

stay out weaklings, for your own safety.

See' date=' i'm not sure those comments actually make sense. You don't like Element, but it doesn't mean they're unispiring and dull, it means your tastes don't run that way.
Cheers
Stuart[/quote']
it means they are uninspiring and dull to me.thats why "i personally think" and "thats just my opinion" was included in my post.
i would have liked your post better had you tied in the "tastes dont run that way" with something diahhorea related.you could have said something clever and smart about verbal diahhorea which would have kept with the oh so apt shit theme.
anyways, dont fret, i'm just offering my thoughts.its healthier to be honest and get it all out then keep it in...the stink may linger but you can always go to another room for awhile.
cheers
steve

I think some of Element 106's music is inspiring actually. But people have to do what they have to do.
x
opinions are like arseholes. everybody's got one.
indeed, its just that the consistency and volume of the shit dispensed varies from person to person.

no loss
i personally think anything that adds to the demise of unoriginal, uninspiring music should be heartily encouraged.but thats just my opinion, on with the cocksucking please...

you have the knighting ceremony 'hymn' wrong, it was in fact the anthemic 'the crown and the ring(lament of the kings)'.we should have been arrested that night, or lynched.

Mark E Smith should be given the freedom of the country. I can't say I've kept up with their output over the years (or necessarily enjoyed it) but no record collection should be without Live At The Witchtrials and Dragnet. Live they were (are) awsome.
i was just about to say everyone should own 'live at the witchtrails'.no xmas for john quays is properly great.
-
not enough time?
- theres 45 mins between the doors and Radio Lucifer
surely they couldve done a 10 min set?! no? ok...
indeed, in the spirit of punk and all that.

I think the left hand side of the Barfly stage officially belonged to Aberdeen' date=' everyone seemed to come from there :-)

Amazing gig four excellant bands
i believe i must have been standing next to you, would you be a long haired fellow?

So I guess you caught that interview with Ebola in Fracture. A suggestion. Don't believe everything that you read or hear. Duane' date=' whose comment that was, does not know me very well. He's never spent any REAL time with me - taken a chance to get to know me.
And you? You know nothing at all about me. I've said no more than half a dozen words to you. And please do not base any judgement you have of me on what you see here - on words on a screen. Your description of me couldn't be further from the truth. Just ask any friend of mine - folks who have spent a lotta time with me. And actually something that you said you could not argue with.
And what is this really all about - you taking these pops at me? Coz of what I said about Assert? Coz prior to that you said not a thing.
And hey, what was with that apology of yours? Take it as meant indeed.[/quote']
that wasnt a 'pop', just a casual observation.i've actually spoken to you five or six times over the years buddo, bought a few profane existence issues from you etc.and i've replied many times to posts you have made, just so happens you have been typing a higher degree of crap over the past few months resulting in a higher degree of replies, some maybe not what you hoped for...freedom of speech not a valid point on your agenda?
the assert thing you have your knickers in a twist over wasnt even an argument, i personally thought the animal thread was way more endearing.and the thread on an older version of aberdeen music, when you called for a boycott of a gig organised by al massive moon in dr.drakes for a cancer charity, because you said all monies raised would go to secret government experiments and the abuse of girrafees or some such.
whats this really about then? i think you have a beef with me because i dont use capital letters much.get it out in the open , unleash the burden of truth.

On what basis?
probably on the basis that on arrival he'd find you scowling in the corner sucking the life out of the room.
-
You've pretty much hit it on the head there: to my mind' date=' John Squire is a better guitarist than Joe Satriani because, though definitely less technically proficient, he can actually write a bloody good song, whereas I don't think Satriani could write a song if his life depended on ithe's all style and no substance.[/quote']
flying in a blue dream has some great 'songs' on it.some even have verses and a chorus.

Just been listening to Faith No More's "Album Of The Year" and it's blown me well and proper. Took me a bit by surprise' date=' although there aren't really any 'bad' FNM albums......
Patton's voice has never been as good as this.
Anyone else got any lp's they've stumbled back on recently and forgot how good they were?[/quote']
i've never really got into album of the year above FNM's other records, not really sure why.i thinks its a bit 'mature' for want of a better description! stripsearch is a classic though.angeldust is the one for me, one of my top five fave ever albums.
-
it was a really' date=' really good night. Halo were so intense, I loved it! Their live set seemed to sound more passionate and noisily abrasive than the recorded stuff I have though. They were really cool to watch.
I like scott hull's shiny sweaty arm in your picture, moog. Amphibian limb.
Adele, not lime[/quote']
he borrowed my arm for the gig, lizarde power.horribe.
Halo - check out this awesome band

i think they played an extended version of either 'bright shining light' or 'slugbait', but i may be completely wrong, the sound was grim as fuck(in a good way).
