Bit of a bombshell that Harold doesn't need viagra...
-
Kurt Cobain...
Joe Strummer, 'cos he always seemed to give 100% in every vocal performance.
-
Wow, now that is a good line up... I was planning on going to Benacassim (sp?) next year though...
-
I've heard formed a band and modern art, and I'd say they're both great songs. I think it said in nme that an album was planned for next year...
-
I did listen to Chesney Hawkes earlier on today.
-
yeah' date=' geffen have tons of concert footage on video, i'm sure it will all seep out eventually.
anyway...
Blew

Verse Chorus Verse (the version from 'No Alternative')
Sliver
Serve the Servants
Does the box set have 'In His Hands' on it? I seem to remember that being a pretty cool song. And 'Talk to Me' as well.[/quote']
It has in his hands, but it's really called verse chorus verse, on the no alternative comp. they renamed Sappy to VCV, which lead to alot of confusion... There is a live version of talk to me on the dvd. Apparently Kurt wrote it for Iggy Pop.

The boxset is pretty awesome.
The boxset is the dog's bollocks. The rehearsal of scentless apprentice is great, and the footage of the first live perfomance of smells like teen spirit is super good.
The dvd version of jesus don't want me for a sunbeam is class, but i know geffen professionally videoed that entire show, along with the support acts (one was Mudhoney, i think the other was bikini kill or L7)... I wish they'd release that show on dvd.

With Capdown playing in Moshulu, I'll surely be going now. Where do the bands play in Moshulu?
-
... I don't want to see bands that look boring' date=' I can see boring people everyday of my God given life walking down Union Street or sucking Alcopops in the Priory. If I pay money for a CD or to see a show, I want to know the band puts in the effort... In conclusion, image is important, everyone who likes Rock music has at some point seen a picture of a band they liked and though "fuck, they look cool", the part of your brain that makes you love rock music, makes you love the classic "rock" images aswell, it's just that ugly people have told you to blank it out because image isn't cool.
Fin.[/quote']
I'd have to agree... But i do like some bands that dress very badly (the polyphonic spree, robes?!) But, yeah... Bands should look cool, or at least try their best.

I've not been to moshulu for a long, long time... i used to go for about a year after the palace closed *sob*, but now I always end up in Exodus... Sometimes upstairs at o'neills is good, but like everyone ahs said, sometimes it's a bit of a nightmare getting served at the bar...

Disc 2 of "How the West was Won" for me currently' date=' a 25 minute version of Dazed and confused theme/medley of the crunge etc., and a 19 minute version of moby dick[/quote']
I forgot about that record... it is pretty damn amazing...
-
Thin Lizzy ~ Live and dangerous is pretty damn good... But, I've got some great bootlegs, like Nirvana's halloween show in '91 and The Smashing Pumpkins 2nd last ever show.

Ah shut your face - Small Enclosed Area' date=' X-Certs, Contra, Masamune, Sidca, Deadloss Superstar, Data Thieves, Karloff, Filthpact, 67, Eric Euan or Turning 13? Pop-Punk or Metal? Maybe it's [i']bacause you don't venture out to Drakes or Drummonds more often...
Excuse me, but i've been to drakes and drummonds quite alot... ok, i've seen Eric Euan and they were quite good...
This thread wasn't an anti pop-punk or metal thread, i was just wondering if there was alot of other bands that would describe themselves as indie...
-
Who cares?
Bacause, despite what most people say, they like to fit into groups... and I've rarely seen a band in Aberdeen that isn't pop-punk or metal...
-
it's 20 to 12 and no snow... I hope it stays that way.
-
I was just wondering how many bands in Abereden consider themselves indie, rather than punk, metal, emo or whatever...
-
The death of Maniac Cop in Maniac Cop 1 is quite good... I've yet to see Maniac Cop 3...
-
Reefer Madness, where the old boy see's the speeding car and then collapses and dies as it goes past.
-
Don't try sound like yr favourite guitarist... be original.Try find a good sound/riff that no one has done before. Technique doesn't matter, a geat song can be 3 chords.
-
Well, I would have to say the snow has been rubbish so far... Is it really slushy in town?
-
My opinion on snow is that there has to be a shitload of it, meaning staying off school/work/uni, or none at all... a bit of snow is just useless really.

Rainbow is still good if you ask me, I have a Zippy poster in my bedroom... But it's Bungle, i just get this feeling that inside that costume there's a peado just waiting to burst out.

That's an ace episode. The bit where they're at the sex shop and Ritchie stays at the door and the guy asks him if he wants anything and Ritchie berates him for suggesting there is something wrong with his sex life.
"Will get out my shop then sir?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"...it's a secret!"
That's a great episode... I love when richie is getting the condoms...
Richie - Right, one union jack cheese n onion tickler... Bagsy first go with it eddie.
Eddie - No Ritchie! Get two...
Richie - Rrrr! Wildman!

Now, I remember watching rainbow as a child and not noticing the sexual referances, but what gets me now is how creepy Bungle is. No way i'd trust him with children.

I'd have to say i enjoyed seeing Capdown again, but am I the only one who didn't think that they played long enough?
