I was very sad when I heard this. First saw him with Pentangle, c. 1971, and then quite a few times over the years.
David Bedford's gone too

I'll deffo have a new one done soon

I'd really appreciate that, tbh!!
I've been busy with hospiral visits, plus frantically painting for my Kilau show, so haven't hada chance to think about the Christmas CD. I'll definitely do a song though!

Would've been a few weeks ago, but I'm nearly finished... and then it'll be back to music for a while.
Thanks for the thought though

Kind of interested, but also skint
(money spent on framing for upcoming art show).
-
I've got the small pedal one...is this it, or the bigger version?

Forgot to say....I'll be selling a limited edition cassette at my forthcoming art show in Kilau. There'll be a couple of new songs, plus radio & tv session versions of others, mostly from the USA. Every painting or collage in the exhibition will have a related song on the tape (should be about 20, hopefully).

I await the day Sony or some other such folks unleash a virus that wipes out all digital music, then encourages folks to buy it all again. We can enjoy our player-piano rolls, 78s etc and stick the vs up at them
-
Reverb Worship seem to a lot of great stuff... as do Blackest Rainbow.

I was enjoying Cluster's Sowiesoso last night.
-
I like an occasional bit of Can, Faust, Cluster, Ash Ra Tempel etc
Neu I like bits of ( eg 'Neuschnee') .. but not so keen on their speeded up or slowed down takes of existing tunes.

That would work! Just needs some a couple of theremin-toting distaffs to complete the setup!

Playing The Lemon Tree very soon, the patter might well be as good as the choons.
I might head along ... saw him back in the Solid Senders days ( Ruffles, I think?). I see Norman Watt-Roy is playing bass, too!
New buys....
Beirut 'The rip tide'
Peter Stampfel & Jeffrey Lewis 'Come on board'
-
I'm out of the loop as regards current open-mikes. For acoustic stuff I'd say Cellar 35, or Under the Hammer.... but other folks'll know better than me.
-
I've wanted to see Bobby Wellins for a while!!

I spotted Alan Cynic walking up Union Street just past The Monkey House deep in animated conversation with some bearded dude. Last Wednesday I think it was, just recalled.
Rarely spot anyone these days. Did see a few folk at Interpol but they were all acknowledged.
Having racked my brain I reckon my conversation pal was my bespoke framer, who was en route to Wasps studios. Good spot!
-
Also... do some of the open mikes to get heard/ get experience.

The Tunnels, Drummonds, etc
Contact the likely promoters, who use Cellar 35, Musa etc
-
I was there too... a fine night!

You can still buy cassettes in Poundland etc
Aberdeen-Music stalking.

I'm dressed for jury duty this afternoon
Thinking of sentencing the judge to 5 years hard labour.
