  1. I've got a few effects lying about that I don't use much and might be willing to accept offers for. zoom 1204, alesis nanoverb, boss sx700, digitech studio quad4 they all do reverb/delays
  2. cheapest option is actually a new dvd player with 6 analogue outs. You should be able to get one for 40-50 quid. sell your old one for 20. have a rummage here http://www.aria.co.uk/productsList.asp?Category=47&Submit=submit
  3. if you can stretch to beyer dt150s they have the same build quality (and modular construction) of the dt100s but have better transducers with a full frequency range
  4. Absolutely. There's simply no way hosts can have a viable long term business model saying unlimited this or that, they have to pay for upstream bandwidth somewhere along the line and are gambling that most clients won't use much bandwidth. You tend to find that anybody using 'unlimited' blurb is a fairly far downstream reseller and the further from the source you get, the worse the support and overall quality of service.
  5. yeah should have kept the cz101 but as I got the cz5000 too (which does exactly the same sounds) not much point apart from compact handiness. The cz5000 last I checked used standard batteries for keeping the memory, though I can't remember whether the 101 does too. The 101 lost memory too and I'd just quickly knock up a patch or two every time I switched it on, which there's something to be said for if you're a super lazy synth programmer like me.
  6. I'm just away to replace the battery inside my tedious old alesis sr16 with a mind to flogging it on ebay. I opened it up and the battery is like a watch type disc one except its soldered to the main board by a few pins. Gonna remove it then get another 3v similar battery, solder some leads to the battery then solder the leads to the board, cover the battery with some insulation tape and whack it inside the case, sorted.. Then again it may follow the path of various other things i've tried to fix, and after getting more and more enraged at how fiddly it is eventually break something terminally and then throw it round the room before finishing it off by stamping on it repeatedly.
  7. for cheezo organ sounds a cz1000/101 is the ticket as long as you understand the synthesis and can program yer own sounds (presets are duff). much cheapness too
  8. I'm surprised nobodies mentioned DJ A La Fu, involved in quite a few record releases, plays big gigs all over, I believe he supported Scratch Perverts european tour etc Type his name into google (in quotes i.e "dj a la fu") and you'll get the full script.
  9. as a pro web dev some technical points, meant constructively (overall I quite like the crayon look though, even if as lepeep pointed out it doesn't portray an uber-business efficiency vibe) tree doesn't line up as already pointed out. no meta tag content e.g keywords and discription (applies to most of lepeeps sites too ;-) some of the images are waaay too big in filesize for what they are. Ya need to crunch them down with more jpeg compression/ gif colour reduction. Over 100k in image data alone on the first page. site doesn't view well on low res. pop up windows are a bad idea: windows xp sp2, many alternative browsers, plus a lot of browser addon software will try to block pop up windows.
  10. my vote star woohahaha star lololol *cof* sub-farTooLate-madchester-wannabee ned guitar sludge with a council-estated overinflated sense of self importance and not a gram of humour or irony (probably a few grams of something else though)
  11. hmm spose the problem is that its harder to look cool behind keys ( i still shudder at the thought of a televised appearance, thankfully late night, where they focused on me for a keyboard solo and how my supposed funky moves translated to the cathode ray tube with horrific inelegance) I guess decent & acceptably fashionable keyboards don't come cheap for the young muso either, can't think of owt worth having under 400 bucks whereas u can get a geetar for 50. btw tricks is fine, keepin a low profile & staying in more to save more for extravagant away trips to decent nights out down South
  12. Keyboard players can't be that uncommon, the realshocks have went thru 3 or 4, Lester being erm no.4 me being the former no.2.
  13. posted this in reply to the duplicate post in the AUBL forum, dunno if u got it there. I might be interested (keys). Dunno if you know d-boy or Gogs Ritchie (Lifestyle) but we did a few acid jazzesque things under the name 'The Mindset' . You might have heard either 'get set' 12" out on afroarts a year or so back and a jazz house thang 'zeroali' on acid jazz the year before. I can send u a cd of loads of other tracks we did so you can hear where i'm at musically if ya want.
