"we can't see the trees for the Wood,
but the Peacock plan is really rather good...whooooah yeahhhhh"
repped
Fiona (sae paing) has already commented on Annie Lennox's myspace page asking her if she would like to contribute lol, fingers crossed
The deadline for all contributions is the end of February. We already have six via soundcloud and four from my email.
The way things are going, this is going to be a corker

Quick catch-up for anyone who hasn't heard the news....
Sir Ian Wood plans to create a new civic square in Union Terrace Gardens which would put the whole area up to street level. Unfortunately, this would mean the loss of Union Terrace Gardens in its current form, with parts of ancient forests, mature trees and a natural ampitheatre. Peacock Visual Arts have planning permission for a new arts centre in the same space that would rejuvenate the area but would leave the gardens intact. Further info:
Compare the Square. The options for Union Terrace Gardens
Are you a musician? Are you in a band? If you support keeping Union Terrace Gardens I would like to consider donating a track to our compilation CD. All donated tracks can be submitted via Fiona's soundcloud account or via email: carmichaeljayne@hotmail.com

I'm really glad everyone likes this. It makes me wish I had some backing singers so we could recreate the vocals live! Any Pips out there?
I'll back you up
-
That's a pretty decent line-up, it has to be said.
Well done
-
got to be the dirty dozen new orleans brass band at rockness. Fecking brilliant
-
Seconded on Rockness, thought the VIP bit this year was not a patch on VIP the year before. Makes me kinda glad I didn't pay for my ticket
I went to Wickerman in 2008 and really enjoyed it, great line-ups and family friendly vibe.

I'm hoping that we can some people already in a band or people that are good at sight reading.
But yes you are right, it's a tall order but hey if you don't ask you don't get.
-
Btw the songs we would ask you to play are 'all i want for chistmas is you', 'let it snow', 'fight for this love' (cheryl cole) and 'thriller'.

Hi
There isn't any gear at all so bearing in mind it would be a total nightmare for a drummer to come along I thought it would be good if we could find some keys, guitar and bass. Unfortunately, the musicians would have to bring their own stuff. The only things we have are stackable tables and chairs, a big hall and some plug sockets

Hey everyone
I have been running a singing school which gives free lessons to kids in regeneration areas of Aberdeen: Northfield, mastrick, cummings park, etc. We are going to have a mini concert at our final week and would like to ask some kind-hearted musicians if they would be the backing band for our choirs?
Sorry, no fee to offer just some complimentary beers from me afterwards and that warm fuzzy feeling you get for doing a good deed at christmas-tide
We would ask you to play the songs we have learned, I have all the sheet music here.
It is on Wednesday 16th December at Northfield community centre, byron square 6pm - 7pm.
Cheers

Hey
I will be teaching at a new job next year and the people want to learn traditional Scottish music. Or, modern music that has is sung in scottish tradition like folk music. I'm going to be bugging Alan cynic for some of his tunes
Does anyone know of any good websites for this sort of thing?
Cheers
