Hi there
I think your singing has potential, I think it should be far louder in the mix. From what I could hear you had some interesting lyrics and you have a good sense of pitch and rhythm, make the most of it. I think you should experiment with someone else doing the guitar, or introducing more instruments. Perhaps an acoustic bass (double bass) and drumkit? It seems to me like you are going for a folky sound.
Cheers

I like what you have done here. It's simple, not that I mean that it's simple but that it is not extravagant. You have kept with the beat, which I think is the key in this kind of music. The use of the female voice keeps people's attention. I'd love to hear your stuff at some gigs or something, are you doing any?

this offends my ears sooooo much :-(

And so it should have been! Who was doing vocals with Sumi Sumi?
That would be me. I'm glad you liked it, improv is not something that I am experienced with, but I really enjoyed the gig. I'm looking forward to collaborating more with Andy.

Hello
Multi Ethnic Aberdeen are holding a jobs and business far at the Music Hall on Saturday 22nd March. They are looking for local bands to play.
PLEASE NOTE: There will not be a PA so anyone who is interested has to be able to play acoustically. There is no fee available for the performance but the organiser is willing to cover moderate travelling expenses.
If you are interested please e-mail Daniel Christian: daniel@multiethnic.co.uk

At long last
The North East's premier Ska band are back!!
A ten-piece ska & 2-tone machine based in Aberdeen, Scotland, we are an all-singing, all-dancing, 20-legged celebration of ska and 2-tone tunes.

I can appreciate both things on a technical level, both choirs are singing really really difficult stuff. The kind of stuff that takes years to perfect.
Quality.

Pretty cool! I'm going to add you for that.
Cheers mate
I like your stuff on your myspace, downloaded a few tunes.

That's interesting Jane! Are you planning to do it live?
Kind of reminded me a little of experimental Arthur Russel stuff but more classical... take a listen I think you will dig:
Hope to hear some more of your experiments!
Colin
Cheers hun, I'm seriously thinking about buying a loop pedal now. I saw Wounded Knee when he was playing with interesting music last week and thought he was ace. I'm really into the looping thing just now. Next experiment I think will be with Ravel's Bolero, but will need to wait to save up some pennies and get my own loop pedal first :-)

Hi everyone
I borrowed a loop pedal from my mate and played about with Laudate Dominum by Mozart, what do you think? The recording overloads sometimes, please overlook my crap recording skills.

qft, I don't like this moaning about lack of attention from the local press, it leads me down an avenue of thought which results in the conclusion that these people are only in a band in the first place because they are massive attention-whores.
Anyone who is genuinely outraged at the fact the P&J won't do a column/insert/article about their "act" or their "scene" needs to stop whining and make the scene speak for itself, instead of adopting this pathetic passive attitude like spoilt children who are suddenly discovering that even though their mum will give them a standing ovation, nobody in the real world gives a fuck.
Stripey, sometimes you just hit the nail on the head. People need to stop being so insular and just get out there and do stuff :-) I guess I was guilty of this through a lack of self confidence but with passing year and a list of trust sponsors racking up I guess I've got to the point where I think 'oh well I must be doing something right' and feel more at ease with my own ability and approaching people.

Networking night
Great event, I hope this can become a more regular thing.
-
Bugger, I think I've missed the vote. Sorry!!
-
I really like your style, some really interesting sounds. You should look into giving demos to computer games companies. I can imagine your music being used in a game, and that's meant as a compliment.
-
I really like using Musical Vision; nice people and it's always easy to park :-)
