  5. People like you make me sick. Pretentious twat. Music is about money you cunt.
  6. fighting the cops might be fun but it def wont change anything the thing that bothers me is that the media seem to label ALL protesters as a hardcore minority of anarchists in reality they are activists who probably just represent the sharp end a hugely dissaffected but apathetic society thats just too numb to give a fuck I couldnt choose a side on this one, but I can see where the need to resort to violence comes in for some people, given that the world leaders dont listen to the people that gave them the power* *if you, like me, reckon that the democratic process is a sick joke
  7. As the exchange of music for currency is the prostitution of Art. Whatever. Fuck off. Badly packaged with no track listing. Theres a stash of them to be dished out on a first cum first served basis at Collision Event No.2 of 1029 @ The Tunnels Friday 8th July (see also gig events for more infoshit)
  8. I think its a beautiful thing to see a father take an interest and support his sons musical development When I was 13, I played my dad the first song Id ever written and he immediately confiscated my hifi and took the plug of my practice amp
  9. i kinda agree that things are on the up in the deen the single biggest factor in my opinion, is the opening of a really cool medium sized music venue run by people not afriad to try something new....namely The Tunnels its ideal for the developing bands in the area who can move up from the small pub gigs and its good for punters to have regular nights of new music and generally good quality bands in a cool place with no neds or drunk wee kids in it ...its also big enough to stage bigger events and attract national bands on the up, and manages to avoid painting itself with one style of music and audience ala Kef (Kef also suffers from being uncool in general....more to do with the fact that its a dump than anything else I think) the problem in the past was there was some weeny venues and then the next step up was the Lemon Tree or the Music Hall, neither of which are known for providing regular and consistent line ups of good new bands, usually playing safe with has-been touring bands on their way down or tribute acts (although the melon tree seems to be getter a bit more quality control of late ....LCD Soundsystem!!!!) anyhow, I think the Tunnel could be the key to whats happening in the town, and it would be a travesty if the place was to struggle cos of lack of interest....we would all deserve to rot in a cultureless hell forever if that happened if theres gonna be a decent culture in the deen, then the live venues (primarily the Tunnels) will be at the core of it imo Flash will prob kill me for not mentioning The Moorings, but I think the Moorings has its place as a fantastic and established rock venue, and will be successful at being that....but rock is always there and never goes away.....Im talking about things moving forward culturally and I honestly think diversity is the way to go....he who dares etc I also totally dig Snafu as a late nite club, and def hope its band nites take off, although theres work to do if its gonna get up there with the Tunnels in music venue terms spunkmuffin

  13. v true but> if it was that simple and obvious (which i reckon it is) the fighting aboot it on the other thread about it wouldnt have ended in a lock out not everyone gets the easy stuff obviously
  14. they are all doing it, Ive been a load of gigs up here and down south and theres gangs of indie boys everywhere apeing MTV2 playlists like kaiser cheifs, futureheads, franz etc....I just hope they know the moment has already gone, to be fair they are just covers bands in a sense the A&R men who sign them are just playing safe, no risks are taken on anything different, if it works once it might work again, hence the limited shelf life of most new albums (different discussion) which is fine cos it leaves a lovely void dont call me an idiot if you want to continue the debate
  15. nae whining, just an observation really as I just dont see the point to every band in the world (cos it looks like that) doing it to saturation point its totally allowed obviously, but surely Im allowed to comment if I think its a bit over done? the point here is > that the majority of the bands endulging in 80s singing and spikey angular guitar are NOT doing what they want to do for themselves, they are just lazily doing something that they presume (like on all bandwagons) is what OTHER people want to hear, basically cos Zane Low catches on to it (after its gone) - and by the time theres a thousand bands in every corner of every town copying GOF etc, most people are fairly bored of it purely a random observation
