not sure about Juicebox, nice bassline and guitar but the vocals are pretty rank
heard some stuff of the nu album on the radio and it sounded pretty good, but maybe I was trying too hard to like it, hoping for a return to form ala the debut album
its gonna be one of those albums ill need to hear before buying it
-
i saw it last week and it was really quite bad
but will no doubt watch it if im in
-
Is there any DJs that any one would be desperate to see in Aberdeen?
a debut starting with Annie Mac would be a good way of getting your night noticed from the start or getting LCD Soundsystem (live show) back to the deen would be a scoop
-
ill do one to add some balance

I know you are far too mature' date=' dignified and ladylike to get involved in an arse kicking match, let alone a battle of the Janets, but please DO let us have our childish fun watching the auld enemies battling it out with their seemingly endless hate/ love/hate relationships.
OK let's say COCK FIGHT
Del and Betamax each get a photo of each other nude and hopefully this will lead to them to at least getting a semi.
THEN THE ACTION BEGINS...
They then, in a style similar to conkers, whap each others cocks together until the loser can not stand the pain/shoots their bolt in excitement.
The winner then gets to bugger the loser.
No real loser though as the bumbee will in all probability love it.
As will the winner.
This is because the contestants will have proved beyond all doubt that they are poofs for getting into such a big girly fight in the first place.
No offence meant to any real poofs,in fact you will benefit more than most by the spectacle of two heterosexuals giving each other a good rogering in the middle of The Moorings bar.[/quote']

I was under the impression we've tried to settle the score with Del numerous times... and it was all fine... and then he got some wine and it's apparently not.
Del used to be in a band with members of the videos... this band was called real shocks. reals shocks are dead. End of.
Let's all move along.
Dels not capable of moving on obviously.
Funny thing is, there were other people (Gogs/Mike/Kerry) who played in Real Shocks who I still get on with with despite them leaving the band during its 3 years of nano activity. No hassle and we've all still got time for each other and might even wanna work on the odd thing together in the future if thats the way it pans out. But its unlikely anyone in our contingent will ever give Del the time of day. Shame, but its down to him.

aye its bloody hard to get away for you mind' date=' jesus i cant believe your 41 next month betamax you look good for your age, at least 38.
i'm very disappointed i havent heard the vidoes on 6 music, with the amount of shit you spout on these messageboards burnhams band is going places. hell i've not even seen you listed for some third rate crap arse gig in london. but hey there's nothing worse than an old looking band of course sharon has brought the average age down but as a band you still look far too old.[/quote']
to do what?
no gigs for a while cos we are recording
and your too fat to pull a bird (unless you pay for it......ahem)
-
41! he doesnt look it. Must be the vitamins.
Oldest members in my bands. Tony (element) 32 and Jake (Spike) 102
Its not vitamins....the secret is never buying a lawnmower! Ive seen guys of 25 go into B&Q and come out looking 50, once you go down that road you are totally doomed!
-
this is the funniest thread Ive seen for a while and half flattered half pissing myself laughing!
hey, the way Del is ranting you might actually think he's bitter after being booted out of a band for being a drunkard and a gob-shite who never stopped slagging of his own band members........
being in Lesters band is great btw! - two grown ups and two kids makes decent mix of youth and experience thankyoooooo!
-
i agree with that' date=' except for when you're on tour...play gig - buzz, party, travel, party, play gig - buzz etc etc etc...[/quote']
indeed a tour (or even a short run of away gigs over a few days) is hard to beat for mental fun
a month working in a good studio or a month on tour? = hard call - both are equally the reason why you start or join a band in the first place probably
its a difficult question (but good one) to answer if you dig both aspects of band-ness
-
Recording is what Im most interested in cos its a massive mindfuck thats either beautifully satisfying or completely awful depending on the results - but its always interesting and has a massive element of randomness in it that gives me a buzz - Im really into production and song writing/programming machines etc so its obvious Im more at home in a studio
Playing live is a short lived buzz and usually a laugh but dosent have the same challenge or end product to it as recording - still highly diggable, but Ive usually forgot about it by the next day
The biggest buzz Ive known is playing live on the radio, which is a mixture of performing and recording really = mega buzz!

Joe MaCRAPPERTY is the best serious solo performer in the world cos she smelt one of Midge Ures farts in front of 9 zillion people once so you are all crap an Joe is best
Cheers' date='
Jester 54321 (using Betamax's PC)[/quote']
actually I thought Jester 54321s post was quite funny really, much funnier than he usually is
but i apologise, on his behalf, if he upset the minicore of wee aberdeen forum dwellers with his warped humour
I blame all the centuries of isolation, inbreeding and poor diet for those tiny insecure minds
Ill let Milner off cos Ive heard he is a Special Needs kid.
Recommended solo artist - Beastman

''mainstream artists like Mylo, Tim Deluxe, Steve Lawler, Royksopp, never-ending list...''
see that bit that says mainstream in the original post
thats why somewhere the size of the Forum would be needed, stick any of the above on a poster and you'll fill the place, The Tunnels would probably struggle to even afford the rider and would not be able to recoup the fees without charging about 30 quid on the door. Same for Snafu. (no offence meant its just thet those artists will charge a lot yus)
sounds like a job for an experienced promoter though, Grafyte do have experience of this cos its quite an ambitious thing if you havent already done stuff like this before
-
For putting on stuff like Mylo, Snafu and The Tunnels would be too small
The Forum would be better
I like the idea of an electronica based night thats leaning between the left feild and the mainstream however....sounds neat
At the moment everything is either way too mainstream or trying-too-hard-to-be-underground ....there is a huge gap in the market imo

You forgot to mention that Hog took the photos at the wedding.
Oh' date=' and I would doubt it is a Nova SRi nowadays, they are so old that there are hardly any around. Certainly if I was still driving a Nova I would be saving fo a new car instead of buying James Blunt CDs.[/quote']
Oh aye , I meant Corsa SRi. Its Kevs wee brother drives the Nova down by Codonas. Right enough.

Stereotype 'Newly married couple with new house and only 5 albums' purchases.
The other two are normally "The Greatest Party Hits Ever..." for when they're having guests and "The Greatest Love Songs of All Time" for Valentine's Day.
They live in Bridge of Don, he drives a Nova SRi and she drives the Renault Clio her dad bought her when she passed her test after failing the first 3 times. They shop at Tesco, B&Q and Next and their favorite film of all time is Titanic or anything with Eddie Murphy in it.
As well as the above, they also still own the Celine Dion single they had played at the ''Touch of Class'' wedding disco. They decided to buy it from Amazon and hand it to the DJ just in case he did'nt have it. Its got their newly married name written on the cracked jewel case. The DJ lost the cover. All their other CDs came free with the News of the World. Every fucking Sunday. They are always called Kev and Claire. Occasionally Louise. Sometime Claire-Louise.

this thread is retarded

is ''artsy'' a new word?
a lazy way for people in rock to describe everything else thats new sounding and therefor un-rock?
rock is truly dead but Im sure we shouldnt just bracket a whole range of new styles together as ''arsty'' just because the songs are not about bumming Satan or drinking whisky on a highway in Alabama (with the Devil no doubt)......theres a lot more to it than that
