  1. What a tug on the heart strings that was. West Brom absolutely dominated, could have scored about 20 goals. Then in stoppage time, Palace head wide from 6 yards out, and have a shot cleared off the line in the 96th minute. Not quite relegated. Palarse have to come to Hillsborough. Whoever wins stays up. If Palace draw, they stay up. Against the odds. I just can't see it happening, because defensively we are embarrassing.

i was listening to the match while playing pool and could hear there was still something to play for but had no idea what was happening. have a few pals that like owls so will be hoping for their sake they win last match, as long as Palace don't take the dons approach and play for the draw!

  2. I think Colin Murray is a twat.

I also hate Dixon and Keown.

But Motd2 is just what i want to see of the premiership (with occasionally a live match on sky sports if it's a decent fixture), nicely condensed highlights of all weekends fixtures, only grumble is them showing the scores of Saturdays games before they show you the clips, it's good that they do tend to use motd commentary rather than the "this game finished, 1-1, here's the first goal" etc before you see action.

  3. the split is shit, i much prefer situations when both teams need to win but for different reasons at the opposite ends of the table, kinda like the Wigan Arsenal match on sunday but more pointing back to end of season drama when titles, euro places, relegation & league placings are up for grabs. if the dons were still in the situation to effect someone not getting into europe/title it makes it a bit more meaningful than trying to deny someone to get 7th "best of the worst" placing.

it is silly having situations where you play the same team away 3 times but i still find it rather hilarious the huns moaning about going to dundee again (although obviously their stadium is vastly superior, not that i'll ever go to see for myself)

why not be flexible with the season, if there's no Euro's or World Cup play some matches over the summer. If scotland fail to qualify then play round the fixtures, haven't thought this out but anyway... look at the dates, play before/after it's finished, if the is time zone isn't gonna clash with saturday matches then fook it, cash in on football fever(!), it's not like the African Nations doesn't disrupt some domestic teams with players going away to represent their country, sadly not sure how many SPL players have much international representation in upcoming finals? probably been mentioned before.

avoid fixture congestion when teams are playing in european competitions, we need the scottish game to try and compete with as much advantage as possible.

my final thought for the day is that the weather is just too pish to justify winter football & as a fan i don't enjoy freezing my nuts off as even on a sunny day it's cold at pittodrie but add snow & ice & it's ten times worse.

ballocks rant over, best go to bed....

  4. I already own a Dons scarf (Dons/Bayern scarf).

Did you find it / handed to you in Munich?

I've got a long running feud with my mate that begged me to borrow my brand new scarf and subsequently lost it. grrrr. it would've been in my collection of split scarves from all the Euro trips that season, well apart from POAK, thankfully didn't see a red spliced with green in athens & got a AEK scarf exchange!

  5. watched Bank Job on holiday, thought the worst when i saw jason stathom's name on it, voiced my concerns that I couldn't understand why my dad had ordered it on easyCinema when i spied it at his house, but bro's gf said "ah i thought it was okay", he later gave dropped the dvd to me and reiterated my suspicions with "not sure why i got this as it's got that jason stathom guy in it, can you watch it and let me know if it's any good!"

    okay long story shit over.

i was quite interested in this film after seeing the "based on a true story" bit and do indeed think it was a decent movie considering it wasn't all action stathom on a fighting mission that i'd expected. my reviews are pish, i won't divulge anymore, the truth will come out 2054 i think!

  6. What really sets the like of him (and kaka) apart in this era, is his sheer humility. It seems impossible to dislike him. You never hear of him shagging granny prostitutes, crashing Ferrari's, fighting people in nightclubs or nutting people who make you're ma jokes to him. I'm pretty sure he still lives at home with his parents and is only now considering moving out.

He just seems like a genuinely nice guy who loves playing football and has the potential to write himself into history as the best ever. He's still only 22, imagine how good he can become.

I don't dislike him but any player that gives an extra roll on the ground when tackled grinds my gears. it may be "part of the game" these days, but in my opinion very annoying to watch, if you are an awesome player and fouled fair enough, but please don't milk it if you weren't even touched, i would say it's unnecessary but then you could say they do it as a professional - making sure the ref gives a foul / penalty chance & potentially card for opposition & crowd shouting for a foul, so then it's deemed as clever...

When comparing with the strikers like Pele you can safely say they didn't have this part to their game... but I'm sure of those players would've loved the "protection" you get these days.

  7. thought i'd hijack this thread to ask for an update on opinions about iPhone vs Android or anything else out there.

My Orange contract has ended, my sony ericsson c902 is falling apart and ready to get something better & will easy jump ship to vodafone, etc.

  8. I reckon Keane will be as successful as Bellamy was but with a little more desire.

Huge expectations, as much as it'd be nice for someone to challenge rangers I wouldn't mind if he failed miserably, just as a way to show that the scottish game ain't as easy as they all think in england, just ask Flo. Even though i concede there may be a difference between defences he'd usually be up against with Evra, Vidic, Terry, Cole, etc and now the mighty Weir, Wilkie, McManus, Diamond, etc.

  9. so OUT

    Miller sold

Bebo back to Jimmy on loan

    & IN

    2 pilgrims on loan

and yet i'm still not tempted to waste my evening tomorrow night...

predictions for next hour, Jimmy to get Young/Duff, try to get Byrne to cancel his Darlington contract?

  10. i managed to get a room in the Thistle hotel on union terrace for 39.01, booked 4 days before i stayed there, cheaper than a taxi home for me! was night before the dons game which ended up being cancelled against Falkirk in Dec.

as mentioned previous if you got a saver deal at travelodge that could be cheapest option, especially if you're lucky enough to get deal, obviously depends on the night / when you book. fri-sun tend to be cheaper but occasional 29 deals on other nights...
