Theres nothing better than a bit of banter, it keeps competition healthy and makes band work hardeer, the scene wouldnt be alive without it!
Verbal ping pong is the best thing that can ever happen to AUBL coz it would be shite without it, cummon, all of you guys have at least bitched once on this boards, its part of being human.
I have no rifts with johnny or ben or cammie or whoever coz there has been no reason too, who do you think has a good dose of the verbal dihorrea?

hey man' date='
you sound like the kinda guy we need, this is [i']our story, me (jamesey) on vocals, and my two flatmates - fergie (bass) and Innes on guitar, we all live on bridge st in aberdeen (just beside liquid) and weve been jamming for about 3 months now, while we have certain degree of skill, we lack a drummer and so inevitably motivation as practisies are really limited. to just bass, lyrics and guitars (sometimes i play guitar on our own stuff and some nirvana covers but nothing drastic - im actaully a bassist, but would rather sing). ive written about 2/3 albums worth of material-ish and would like to work with a drummer on all the tracks. covers or our own tracks, its all good.
we really want hit the pub circuits like drakes and cafe drummonds but at the moment really want concentate on gelling as a band. our influences are mainly classic rock like hendrix, zepplin, lynard skynard, sabbath, but our combined favourite band is the chilipeppers, and we play a fair number of thier songs. we are all fairly experienced musicians at least 3/4 years playing, just not much seriuos band expereince, we are (or were) students aged about 20. chilled out guys who are just trying to find that ever elusive ticket to the bigtime, look forward to hearing from you mate,
jamesey
i sent you a pm man, just get in contact with me when you want to jam
cheers

I don't think they have any tours over here planned. But I'm hoping they might when the new albums out!
cheers man, do you know when they are putting it out?

sigur ros
gtis Byrjun is possibly one of the best albums ever created! It is the best rage of experimental songs you can have and not even ( ) can match that (yep, even if it does contain such a great song as "njosnavelin" - the end track of vanilla sky). The actual song "gtis Byrjun" is a truly beautiful song, "Svefn - G - Englar" comes a close second!
I have to thank Sigur - Ros and their album gtis Byrjun for getting me through my exam revision, some say their stuff is depressing (like my dad for e.g.) but i think its the most truly glorious, uplifting and hair raising music you can ever listen too. Nobody can beat the Ros!
anybody know if they are coming on a tour here any time soon?
Cheers

Has anyone got their first record Von? I've tried for ages but i can't find it anywhere...
yeah man ive got it, the only way i was able to get it was online through soulseek
its a lot different from their newer albums Agaetis Brjuin and ( ) because Von sounds like one of them relaxation cd's you buy from "The natural world" in the bon accord centre. Very chilled out experimental stuff

glad to hear you crazy boys got back together again! you did mumble something about it on friday' date=' but y'know...i was...inebriated! so sorry if i wasn't more excited at the time![/quote']
i actually said it loud and clear, it was just coz of the loud music and you had otgher maters in your hands
but yeah its understandable

covers
i absolutely adore BECK's version of "Everybody's gotta learn sometime" from the eternal sunshine soundtrack, anyone mutual?
-
Would that have been the lockup? They have a timetable sytem. But I know that it's a hell of a lot more than 4 a month.
i think we were actually askin 40 a month

???
hmmm thats quite a hard one!
id say i get the best vibe with playing our new song (yet to be played live) "Transhuman Condition For You", fucked up song name and absolutely experimental drummin/guitar.
I like it soo much coz its got me playin a sort of drummin i like to do, its extremely experimental and quite different from our usual stuff.
but then i also love our songs "Suicide blues" and "In God We Must" coz they are so hard hitting, thumping and in yer face frenzy. i like....

I could have sworn I heard of someone renting out a rehersal space for like 4 a month and the only planning required is timetabling with other bands.
May have been a dream though...
that was our band, untill we got chucked out coz a neighbour was threatening legal action
so thats why we are looking for a basement somewhere
-
does anyone know of any cheap practice places or rooms for my band to prctice?
maybe we can rent a room in a basement somewhere?

Hey People
As some of you may know, the diuretics have now split up and are not currently thinking about getting back together in the near future.
If anyone at all needs a drummer to have a jam or to try me out for playin with your band then this is the place to look!
Im going to be in a few bands but as i am now moving to aberdeen i will be able to spend much more time on music, which is what i want to do.
My drumming influences include The Captain (The Icarus Line), Paul Quattrone (Modey lemon), dave grohl, jimmy chamberlin(smashing pumpkins, zwan), cyrus bolooki (New found glory), taylor hawkins (foofighters), ravi Tajingham or something (my vitriol), Jose Pascillas (Incubus).
My drumming influences may be these but im basically into all types of music
I can play for a rock band, ballad rock, indie, basically anything but im not a good jazz drummer. I can also do punk depending on your influences. So maybe its handy to have a drummer who is into a lot of stuff. Im not a big fan of playing metal either though!
cheers to anyone wo takes interest, just reply to this post or pm me, cheers

cheers man, ill do that
about aurora, i honestly have no idea! We did have that great foyer gig but otherwise we really havent been in contact, hes on holiday in australia at the moment i think.
Im not sure were gonna be doin anything in the near future, unless he manages to get something organised
