  1. Hey People

As some of you may know, the diuretics have now split up and are not currently thinking about getting back together in the near future.

If anyone at all needs a drummer to have a jam or to try me out for playin with your band then this is the place to look!

Im going to be in a few bands but as i am now moving to aberdeen i will be able to spend much more time on music, which is what i want to do.

My drumming influences include The Captain (The Icarus Line), Paul Quattrone (Modey lemon), dave grohl, jimmy chamberlin(smashing pumpkins, zwan), cyrus bolooki (New found glory), taylor hawkins (foofighters), ravi Tajingham or something (my vitriol), Jose Pascillas (Incubus).

My drumming influences may be these but im basically into all types of music

I can play for a rock band, ballad rock, indie, basically anything but im not a good jazz drummer. I can also do punk depending on your influences. So maybe its handy to have a drummer who is into a lot of stuff. Im not a big fan of playing metal either though!

cheers to anyone wo takes interest, just reply to this post or pm me, cheers

  5. To all the people who are interested....

We have pu things on hold the past few months because of my shitty exams but as from tomorrow, im officially free and we have as much time to play gigs as possible.

THURSDAY 3rd June- The diuretics and others, DR DRAKES, more info soon!

SATURDAY 5th June - The Diuretics/Eight Page Pullout/Stabbing Judy @ Tullynessle Hall, Tullynessle (Outside alford), doors open 7.30pm and 4 entry, worth a look!

FRIDAY 10th September - Fudge frenzy and with other bands, not completely sure who esle with! more info soon!

And if you are more keen to know, we will be releasing an EP in the summer (around late july - august) as we have created some great new material (youd know if you have been to some of our recent gigs or are going to be at upcoming gigs), We hope to have a release gig in one up if they are cool with it. Our new stuff is much more harder, rockin and more experimental. Anyone know any decent place to record a good ep?

anyone got any questions/slags/compliments/query's? this is the thread to go to or just pm me

yeah my flat mates have De Facto's album and it fucking rocks, i was not completely impressed by the mars volta's tremulant ep though, not as impressive as deloused!

and about the whole crossing new boundaries thing, maybe hes just saying they are so experimental and sound sooo good that it makes a change to most other experimental bands out there who sound shite, maybe im just talkin bolloks

no contest, mars volta. they're more exciting and take more risks. sparta are great but aren't doing anything exciting or new. it's just jim ward carrying on where he left off with at the drive-in, he's not moved on in anyway.

I'm definately agreeing with dave on this one. Sparta are a great band but, as he as allready said, they are just picking up the reins which were discarded by at the drive in, good idea but, however, has not worked out as well as The Mars Volta.

The Mars volta are truly amazing, like most have said they are amazing live and have yet to play a set on stage which is the same as their previous gig. Their stuff is hard, fast, experimental, crossing new boundaries and all in all, they have the most fucking amazing drummer of all man kind, yes he IS better than john bonham! Even if he did create amazing drumming with Moby Dick and Achilles Last stand.

No doubt, the amrs volta are, not surprisingly, the most exciting, most excillerating bands at the moment! BOOONNGGG!

    cheers

  8. It would have to be Guy McKnight from the eighies matchbox b-line disaster. He has an amzing voice, he has good stage presence and goes absolutely insane!

Oh and mybe Joe Cardimone from The icarus line - myabe coz he is fekkin insane too!

and last but not least! Phil Boyd from modey lemon, oh what the hell, the drummer paul quattrone too! you guys fucking rock

  9. cheers dudes i appreciate it, i now come to the conclusion that new found glory rock and they always will rock!

About catalyst, is it true their sound has changed coz they have grown up a bit? Is it better thatn their self titled first major label album? Amazing songs! Better Off Dead, Black And Blue, Sincerely me, amazing !

and you are right emma, its summer and it makes me feel all happy and warm inside!
