  1. A pal in London was trying to talk me into going to that - I have to admit that the bill actually scared me! Each to their own tho. Have fun' date=' don't turn into a gnome!

    Dear. God. No! :swearing:

Nice & central for accomodation I suppose but the Bulldog & its ilk are like the Maccy-D's of coffeeshops, cheesy & usually rammed with the sort of braying-idiot tourist you really don't want to meet.

Get yourself out on the Leidesplein & explore some of the streets around there - plenty of excellent independants. :D

KLM Cityhoppers from London City Airport are also worth checking-out for price. :)[/quote']

Yeah i can imagine that being the case with the bulldog. Don't worry though, i'll be going round plenty coffee shops i'm sure

Been working on persuading a few extra friends along to this gig too, but the bill is understandibly going to be too much for a lot of folk. Going to be the highlight of my life so far, for me though.

  2. Got a trip planned to Amsterdam in November for the Gong Family Unconvention

We got return flights for the full price of 36.50 each. Got to travel to Birmingham for that though.

We're hopefully staying at the Bulldog hostel. I've heard they are supposed to have the best cafe in all of Amsterdam, but i'll be the judge of that. :gringo:

  3. We're all shite. If it's not enough to fuck ourselves over, we have to go and fuck the entire planet up for every other living creature too

The meaning of life seems to have been dominated by materialism. Money, climbing up the social ladder, and power is what our generation can aim to achieve today.

In order for things to get better, i believe things need to get a lot worse first. Something big and terrible will befall the human race in the not so distant future, and the look on every shitty human's face will be priceless. It will be then that we hopefully realise "We've done it all wrong. Lets do it right this time."

    Wishful thinking?

  4. Cheers for the feedback dudes.

I agree its very like King Crimson's Red era. We have another song to come before and after this track that we've yet to record. As it is a trilogy, it should sound more complete when the rest is finished.

The guitar tone is something i'd definately want to change however. I was using a god awful distortion peddle on that recording.

Anyone else with any thoughts they'd like to share?

  5. Hey folks. The Snake Temple Kings have recorded recently a new piece of music which will be the middle part of a trilogy of music. The recording quality is poor as we rushed the mix, but we will be working on recording again shortly.

The new track is called Ad Nausium just so you know.

We would be very grateful for any feedback on the new song or any of the music so far.

    Cheers

  6. I was also at the gig and thought it was excellent. I'd definately go again to see them.

Nik Turner's playing is amazing these days

From what i've seen of hawkwind dvds, space ritual are far more worthy of carrying the title of "Hawkwind".

I also agree with you on the Roger Waters front

  7. I thought it was a slightly adapted version of the infamous point 'n' click PC game "Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars"

Broken Sword, eh? I've got that sitting in another room waiting for me to play it. A friend let me borrow it and insists that i hsould play it.

The Da Vinci Code is a shit book but nevertheless was a good read.

I'll probably go see the film, and if it holds my attention for the full time then fair enough.

I agree with Johnny Mac about a lot of people "jumping on the wagon" and slating the book though. This happens way too often these days.
