  1. why? whats the mighty Prince of the Pretentious Hobbes gonna do? go and arrange a protest march about it? can't wait to see the "BAN FLOSSIE" placards! best wishes, El Flosso
  2. is there anything you support that doesn't involve people being banned in some description or another?
  3. i am sure many bands have had interviews on American-based websites, the Internet's been around for a while now after all
  4. i am neither accepting or rejecting anything you say, i think what i don't like about your attitude is that its an "i'm right and you're wrong" attitude, nothing personal mate, its just the way you come across sometimes
  5. you can bet that vote was orchestrated by kids who read Smash Hits and who watch the likes of Top Of The Pops and CD:UK, Robbie Williams isn't even a musician, he is merely a glorified dancer, you can bet had Justin Timberlake or Britney Spears been in that list they would've been voted into a hall of fame like this too, that much is a certainty i think thats not a real vote, these people are the same people who vote the mediocre likes of Michelle McManus and Gareth Gates to pop idol fame, need i say more?
  6. thanks, i'll bring me personal stereo and big headphones with me too
  7. what "free publicity" is this generating for them anyway?, who else reads these boards apart from the people who are signed up to it and the people who know about these messageboards?
  8. they might be in a metal hall of fame but i think these nominations are classed on what these bands have achieved throughout that particular decade and what mark they made on music as a whole on that decade surely the stone roses should've been included in this list too, i think joy division is a bit of an odd inclusion because they only made one album in the 90s and their main achievements and recordings as a band happened from 1977 to 1979
  9. oasis and nirvana, two most important bands of the 90s by far, maybe Radiohead for making consistently great albums, certainly not the spice girls or robbie williams its ludicrous they're even be considered as musicians
  10. i don't think there's any jealousy at all, good luck and fair play to them if they ever do get opportunities to get themselves more recognition, i just think some people think the interview is a tad bombastic with all the bravado and macho posturing going on and although i don't what tact this Ben person took to the questions given but his answers don't seem to be natural responses, it seems he's trying to over-egg the pudding a bit so to speak, i think hyping your music up or publicising yourself only works if you can back up the arrogance and cockiness with talent and consistency and i fear this is perhaps what some of the people responding to this thread are probably getting at
  11. we didn't have a pub at our school did we Stu? maybe i was just too pissed to remember;)
  12. i think that guy looks more like that tv tanned guy who i remember dan atom also had many classic arguments with in the past, good to see dan atom back on the boards by the way!
