  1. What are you like? I don't have the patience for downloading MP3's (no Broadband)
  2. Silly me. Here's The press release: Event: homespun Date: Sat 17th Sept Time: 9pm-close Venue: Upper theatre of the Lemon Tree Acts: FOUND Other acts: The Radio Magnetic Sound System Promoters: Interesting Music Ticket prices: 3 homespun Since the first dawn of 2005, an ensemble of southern dwelling musicians and artists, calling themselves FOUND, have been grooving heads left, right and centre with their unique blend of visual art and music. Snapped up immediately by Surface Pressure Records, they have already supported electronica luminary Luke Vibert at Triptych05. In fact, such has been their impact that the PRSFoundation have decided to award FOUND the prestigious Live Connections Award to stage a one off multi-media event at the Lemon Tree. And so, in collaboration with Interesting Music Promotions, FOUND present to you their latest experiment; homespun. For this specially commissioned performance FOUND will set about hand crafting 200 CD covers using sewing machines, staplers, guillotines, etc. If this wasnt enough, they will sample and loop the sounds made by these devices to create a musical composition. They will then incorporate their own songs into the mix. Once they have finished they will burn 200 CDrs of the performance (for the 200 CD sleeves) and distribute for free to everyone who attends. Or at least, thats the plan! While FOUND are bustin their onions trying to duplicate 200 CDs, the Radio Magnetic Sound System will be playing a specially prepared interactive dj set. And all of this for only 3!!! www.surfacepressure.co.uk/found www.surfacepressurerecords.co.uk www.triptych05.com www.prsfoundation.co.uk www.radiomagnetic.com an audaciously playful melange of sound and vision, The List FOUND sound like they charge around like bulls in a theory shop, The Sunday Herald a common language at a place where music and art meet, The Scotsman Edinburgh's wiliest, grooviest, sample-based alarmists Triptych Found furtively caper and bawdily frottage amidst the mellow meadows of Tortoise, The Beta Band, The Earlies. Their uptown jazz and downtime beats are guaranteed to fill ears with joy and toy with loins. Triptych
  3. If you really don't know, read a Lemon Tree programme and speak to Ziggy.
  4. Shite so now we have to provide perplexion as well!! You could bring your sewing machine to Homespun!!! Actually I think we're specialising in stealing Arkade bands now.
  5. Surely some contradiction in terms there!!
  6. ...but since it's improvised you never know what it will be like this time.
  7. I would hope not! I think the frustration is knowing that people would like it if they came and also that there are those who DO like it and still don't!
  8. Please let's not expect too little! Would this be free? How much of costs could be covered by advertising? I picked up a listings paper in Dublin which was like a cross between "The List" and our local freebie papers. Perhaps the likes of The Independant would be able to produce something with the right input from others. I think "The List/Time Out" are the models which should be used. Maybe the time is right to approach them again, at one time many years ago there was talk of an Aberdeen/Inverness edition.
  9. Proof then, as if it was needed. Actually some ned at TITP called me old as well. I think it was full of love as well.
  10. Damn the law! Thanks for the rest of the info though, I'll keep my eyes open.
  11. And useful those are. I am now more aware of what you're doing than before...and I'd love to know what your radio 2 shows are.
  12. The number of times people say "I've never heard them" and you know if they had they'd like them and probably go and see them. So: 1. Does the radio station on this site have the capability of doing a magazine/preview type show? 2. Can Northsound be persuaded to do such a show (I think I already know the answer to that one)? 3. Are there any other options for an internet radio type thing? (You'll have spotted I'm not up on the technicalities of these things).
  13. Is cutting edge another way of saying "somebody you haven't heard of"?
  14. This is sad sheep mentality. I'm not accusing you or anybody else in particular because we all do it, I know I do. But how do you get to know and like bands well? Surely seeing 3 bands for say 4 is as good a way of getting to know them as anything else. So what else does it take?
  15. I'm off to HMV to look for the "Free Folk" section!
  16. I think I may only go and see bands with bald people in them...so that narrows it down a bit!
