I don't quite understand that comment - is it an insult, or simply an observation, cos there's a fair crossover between you, me, and most of the thread, which may have something to do with the topic title, no?

Hot Damn! is definately an example of a "cool" record, but that doesn't stop it being super-fine....

And dammit, I forgot BoySetsFire too!

Vaya - muchos props for bringing up Beecher and The Bled - both awesome. Ben, did you ever check out the Bled?

  2. Converge - Jane Doe (Masters of the Genre)

Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing / End Of Heartache (No metal band in the world can touch them just now)

Vision of Disorder - Imprint (THE greatest metal hardcore crossover album EVER!)

Sick Of It All - Scratch The Surface (Stone cold classic)

Scarlet - Cult Classic (Sick-as-fuck metal/hardcore/industrial/dunno what else hybrid)

American Nightmare - Background Music (Old school the new way)

The Hope Conspiracy - End Note (See AN)

Stampin' Ground - Carved From Empty Words (British HARDCORE!)

Every Time I Die - Hot Damn! (Spazz classic)

Posion The Well - You Come Before You (I know it's not the "cool" one, but this is my fave by a mile..)

Plus awesome stuff by Since By Man, Refused, Atreyu....

Got the Killing Tree abum, but hate it.

There's a few bands in your list, Ben, that I need to check out: As I Lay Dying, Beloved and Blood Has been shed worth checking out?

    Incidentally, my list is best.....

  3. Saying emo is wussy whining music for nerds who can't get laid is like saying metal is for neaderthal thugs who are stiil virgins and living with their parents - yes, both sterotypes contain elements of truth, but are FAR from the real picture.

I fail to see why Finch get the brunt of it though - there are far worse offenders, and Finch can slay when they need to....

  4. Death to "Story of the Year"- downloaded the album, and it's coat-tail riding pish. Why frikkin' bother when you already have Taking Back Sunday, Finch and The Used?

As for "Through Silence" - sounds like a good 'un, but will get with the downloading ASAP....

  5. I heard that rumour from Mr M already - I seem to recall through a druken haze they may well be support to a certain noisy British band on their late-August tour. Maybe. By when I'll be in Liverpool. Bastards.

The Bled are on Fiddler records, and have one album ("Pass the Flask") - I highly reccomend downloading "Red Wedding" and "Sound of Sulpher" for the most Ben-Quik-Positive tunes, but they do get a bit more hardcore. You'll dig it.....

  6. Howard was AWFUL on the Roadrage tour, but goddamn is he good on the new album. Maybe it's all pro-tools, but when it sounds that good, who cares!

Will have to invest in a ticket for QMU, although I doubt I'll be able to drag Lucifer of Spence down after the Roadrage debacle. Who's going down?

  7. ....are awesome. Recommended to me by Dan Loaded (along with Black Dahlia Murders - who are pish...), and I've downloaded most of "Stings of Conscience" . Uber-ace metal/hardcore for fans of Killswitch Engage. Go get. Along with The Bled "Pass the Flask" - for Atreyu fans methinks.....

    Downloading UnderOath now.....
