Im trying not to sound like a musical elitest idiot/snob.
I also love polymetric drumming/obscure timing etc etc....but with taste. Misaery Signals IMHO don't deliver..it's just for the sake of it.
That Textures stuff is rather good though.
I too am becoming jaded with the current metal scene - it's all about who is fastest/most BrOOtal, etc, without much thought to songs etc (see JFAC, Annotations of an Autopsy etc etc) plus the whole metalcore thing is just eating itself. The other extreme is the bands saying "we wanna be Metallica" - fuck OFF with your corporate bullshit.
I rather like this lot though:
Rather fabby blackened thrash. Nowt polyrhythmic about them though!
Other than that, its been punk/HXC where better records are being released (although every second fucking band are "southern" now). The Gaslight Anthem may be the best band ever.

United by Fate is still the best album per pence i own! 1.99 from the old Fopp. Im sure someone put the wrong price tag on it, if you're out there, then thanks, as i had never heard of RS before this!
I got it by accident too - in a "Rival Schools United by Onelinedrawing" split I bought - free!

The "Pale Sketches" CD is pretty great - unreleased Jesu stuff, but sound more like a mix of Jesu, BOTB and Godflesh. I still like the new stuff (especially the track with Jarboe), but agree the earlier stuff is much better....

I need a new pooter. I only REALLY need it for music, photos, videos, Office (word, powerpoint etc) and the interweb. No interest in games for it (thats what I have a PS3 for). I've always had a PC, but with all the Vista horror stories, plus what I need it for, I was thinking of switching sides and getting one of these:
