  1. The Feeling are good, would nod my head along to The Hoosiers and I think the Pigeon Detectives are in a muddle of bands I have no particular feelings about. I'd go see any of them live if they were in the deen... and weren't already sold out.

But there's always Scouting For Girls at the end of the month. Decent.

    o_O

    Do you not LIKE music?

  2. Just got back from this - not quite sure what to make of it!

I'm a fan of the comics - more for the super-gore visuals than the (slightly thin) story, but was quite excited to see the flick.

There were some moments of pure fucking genius - the Vamp on car-roof, the first slaughter scene from top-down, the bait scene, the little girl (maybe a little campy though!) and I was really pleased they kept the proper ending from the comic. And there is LOADS of blood and a fantastically brutal beheading.

    But....

...the bits in between played like some godawful Playstation-film adaptation (Silent Hill kept springing to mind) which was pretty rubbish. I was a bit annoyed the main "goodies" became young-couple-on-the-rocks rather than "middle-aged-solid-as-a-rock" as I thought that was purly to sell to a younger demographic and actually hindered the story. I also though the vamps (while fantastic generaly) were a bit mixed - there were a few who were otherworldly-evil fuckers, but the main guy was some slightly chubby bank-manager, when he should have been more freaky (like his bird - holy fuck!)

To compare musically, it was like a Pig Destroyer album, but with long Linkin Park B-sides throughout.....or something.

  3. I saw Clutch support Motorhead in Manchester and it just didn't seem to happen for them though the crowd were very responsive. I would like to see The Sword sometime as I really like their album (though not as much as Sword's 2 albums from the late 80's). Again I saw Sword (Canadian metal band) support Motorhead in Edinburgh about 19 years ago and they were immense.

I've seen Clutch twice, and the last time (with CoC) they were actually phenominal. One of my favourite all-time gigs...

  4. Weedeater are probaly heading a little heavy compared with the others.

I reckeon: Clutch, Clutch and more Clutch. One of the best bands EVER and up there with Kyuss. Start with "Blast Tyrant" I think.

Hermano (Garcia from Kyuss on Vocals)

Karma To Burn - s/t debut is a fuckin classic.

Scissorfight - Jaggernaught (more aggressive, like a dumbed down Clucth)

    Floodgate - Penalty

Corrosion of Conformity (although heading more metllic, Wiseblood or Deliverance are awesome)

And then I head off down the NOLA route - probably getting to Weedeater in the end!
