  1. Always a name I've heard, but had always disregarded 'cos I don't really "get" grind.

Just listened to a few tracks offa their myspazz sitefrom Phantom Limb - it sounds fucking ace, but not what I expected - much more "straight ahead", less blasts etc - will probably pick up the album tomorrow,

    Have they changed sound?

  2. He was fucking great as usual. Opened with "Mother Mary" (ace!) ran through the best bits of his various bands, including a fucking blisteringly raw "Be Quiet (and Drive)" plus some from his new one. Some lippy Weegie bint got ripped to bits, which was ace. Met Jonah after, and as per, he was a loverly bloke.

Didn' t stick around for Frank Turner, although he too is a loverly bloke.

GET TO THE TUNNELS ON THE 17TH TO SEE HIM YOU CUNTS!

  3. Divine Heresy? Yep, pish. And FF made areasonable record with Archetype (IMHO better than Obsolete) but they're a fucking joke now.

Whats up with the MH hating? Awesome band, several ace albums (Supercharger is pish) and they still sound like only themselves - WTF are you on about Hog in terms of "sounding like Trivium"? (the wine may have muddled your message).

I agree with the state of metal though - soooooo many generic metalcore, tuneless, lack of talent wannabes about. That said, great releases from Shels, Neurosis, Municipal Waste, SSS, Megadeth, Clutch, The Warriors, Jesu etc, plus a host of great Hardcore releases have kept my interest in "heavy" music up.

    Enter Shirari are AWFUL though.

  4. Amongst a deluge of horribly sub-par albums from Yankee big-hitter "commercial" hardcore/metalcore acts (i.e. on large-ish labels, Victory etc) - Every Time I Die, Throwdown and Nora, I'm looking at you - The new Warriors album is.....

    FUCKING AWESOME!

Seriously great album - I loved their first record (War Is Hell), thought "Beyond The Noise" was rubbish and expected this to be pish too, but its rather fantastic. No-one sounds quite like them, mixing in a load of influences (Death Metal, Hip Hop, Hardcore) plus some choice guest vocals (Lemmy and Lou from SOIA) and actually wring good SONGS, something most of their contemporaries seem to have forgotten.

Best on-line review compared it to VoD and Biohazard - more because of the attitude that you can stretch beyond traditional HXC sounds and create something a little different than actual sound.

Deffo one of the best "heavy" releases of the year. Highly recommended.
