The first album - 'Busy Signal At The Suicide Hotline' - is a bit more straightforward and, consequently, not as good. There's an ace song on it called 'Condoning The Use Of Inhalants' that you should probably download. However, 'How They Light Cigarettes In Prison' is absolutely ESSENTIAL. Buy buy buy...

It's true, I am a fucking stupied - the secret's out. However, I would like to draw attention to the fact that I am allowed my own opinion and that is that Shadow's Fall are the cheesiest most pathetic metal band I've had the displeasure of hearing in the last decade. They should get back to the eighties where they belong. In addition, Chimaira are the simultaneously the most dull yet most amusing live acts I've EVER seen. Oh yes...

I'm off to see Killswitch Engage - hope they're better than the last time I saw em. God Forbid are on the bill whom I'm really looking forward to. Shadows Fall and Chimaira both suck big fat donkey dick though...

Not sure how many people here like Drowningman or know who they are but, in my opinion, they are the best band that ever walked the earth. Anyway, they reformed last month and frankly, this renders all other bands obsolete. From the mouth of Drowningman: "Apparently the cat is out of the bag. We had planned on waiting a bit longer, launching the new website, and taking care of a few outstanding obligations. But, yes, it's true Drowningman is back. Drowningman was started in late 1996 by Denny Donovan and myself (SImon Brody). When Denny left due to personal reasons several years later we made a difficult decision to soldier on. After that Drowningman changed in a lot of ways, I think that's apparent to fans of the band when comparing our Hydra Head material to later stuff. Denny and I started working together again in San Francisco in a band called The Scheme which unfortunately fell apart. Having moved out to the west coast specifically to play in The Scheme, the aftermath was a difficult time for Denny and I, anyone that's lived in the bay area knows it's not cheap, so yeah things got a bit disastrous for us at points, but the good news is that Denny and I playing together again felt right and we knew that in some way we had to find a situation where it could work. Well we finally have. The turbulent times of the Drowningman and Scheme breakups are behind us. The insanity of the past several years is gone and we're eager to approach this with clearer heads and something to prove. This is not something we would even consider doing if we thought the results would be less than spectacular. A website will be launched in the coming weeks, at which point you'll be introduced to the new guys in the band. A record of demos spanning our career will be released this summer through our good friends at Law of Inertia Records entitled "Learn to Let It Go" live performances will be announced shortly as well. Yes, we will still play old songs but in terms of newer material, were working on some next level type shit. If you want to hear us rehash our "metal emo" past it won't happen, there's plenty of bands out there doing that, if that's what you're still into... If you've never heard em, check out the album Rock N Roll Killing Machine for some quality metal/hardcore grooves in the vein of DEP, Botch and Converge...

I actually prefer Sparta. I know it's not as original or wacky or whatever the devil it is you kids are into these days, but they're songs are so well written. That's not to say I don't like The Mars Volta - the album's great and the musicianship is spectacular. I guess the whole MV fever kinda passed me by slightly. I'm really into De Facto though, they put out some great stuff.

Do you mean the Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat demo? I do not but I heard one song from it which was pretty dreadful...

I saw them at the Astoria in 1999. One of the best gigs I've ever been to.

Unfortunately, our Aberdeen gig on Thursday has been cancelled due to reasons beyond anyone's control. HOWEVER: The kind folk at 1up records have managed to land us a last minute instore to help promote our new EP. I'm more of a dub man than a reggae man. I heartily recommend 'Rids The World Of The Curse Of The Evil Vampires' (or something similar) by Scientist. BEST DUB EVER. It's ace. You may recognise some of the tunes if you own GTA3.

After 7 years, Welsh punkers Douglas have split up. They're last show is on Tuesday in London.

It came out last year on Ferret although it gor re-released this year on Roadrunner. Am I the only person who prefers Last Night In Town to Hot Damn?

Turned up just in time for JT who were fucking amazing - much better than the last time I saw em. Wish I'd seen Allergo - they're always great but apparently last nite was the best yet. Rock.
