Nice trick, but badly executed. As they've still got a loyal fanbase, the sales from those folk alone would put it in the top 40 wouldn't it? And now they've gone and spoilt the mirage before folk spot this new band in the top 30 and think about buying the single - which seems to be the whole point of their experiment in the first place. Shot themselves in the foot?

i thought the award was dubious anyway, but i felt compelled to watch them perform their 'classics'. however, i was soon channel hopping as they seemed to play for far too long. bring back aha.

I wasn't at the Simple Kid gig but Steven Milne is definitely worth going to see if you can. Great voice & excellent choice of covers.

Belmont Cinema, HJBs, Cafe Drummonds, Dr Drakes all have acoustic nights. The Lemon Tree had a couple of showcase nights last year but they expect more than 150 punters to "break even". Where have you played acoustic nights before? Network with other acoustic-y folk and put on gigs!
