  1. rach - you just answered my next question... :)

spoonster - i'm sure you paid, you know. i think you perhaps lost that cheque and sent me another one? i might be wrong, of course...

    IN OTHER NEWS -

it looks like all three potential bassists will be asked to play during the set. three songs each or something (it's bound to be a disaster, eh?)

I think you should film this...

  2. It's not so much about getting a signed permit or anything, it's just common courtesy of asking permission from the ghillie or ranger or whoever is responsible for that particular loch. Usually it's just a case of phoning up and saying that you would like to fish on that loch that day.

There are a few good books about Scotland's trout lochs etc that list names and numbers for each entry of who you should get in touch with and there's definitely a few where you don't need to ask anybody, but can't offhand remember where.

Especially with Loch fishing if you ask permission you can often gain access to a free boat ;)

  3. Was silent at 11am, in practice for today's remembrance parade and service at King's. Would have observed it anyway even if I hadn't been at the rehearsal.

It gets my goat when people try and say poppy day is no longer relavent because WW1 happened 90 years ago, we're not just remembering the dead of the World Wars, but every serviceman who has fallen since, whether it was in the Falklands through to those still dying in Afghanistan and Iraq.

PS. If anyone wants a laugh, the Uni's tri-service parade will be marching through Kings sometime after 10 this morning... with yours truly in the Naval detachment...

  4. Some nice games today and last weekend.

Lots of newbies at Murrayfield today, good to get them some experience before the P. Islanders next week and Australia the week after, they're gonna need it!

Just waiting to see how Ireland fares against the Springboks now... good luck to 'em!
