They are different bands, its cool to think Mars Volta are better, but Sparta have their place within the post-hardcore scene, the splitting of At the Drive-In just showed that they had differing views of music, both ace I say!
Its nice to get postive feedback, but as you say there is now't you can do about people who just dont get what your trying to do, weve had a few negitives aswell, just be strong and keep going.
They were a great band, saw them support the Deftones in Edinburgh, then in Aberdeen, they played T in the Park a couple of times too, the reissue of Finelines is the one to get with an extra CD of B-Sides and Covers, etc, I thought they had split.
Thanks for the cool review of the gig Ben, I thought was a great night good crowed as well, Andrew was a bit nervous but he put in a good performance, keep your eyes peeled for more gigs in the weeks a head.
Re: Re: t13 at king tuts No, this is the "compitition" for us to hopefully get to play T IN THE PARK, we woundn't get a gig there normally as its booked all year, everyone wants a gig there.
11th May - King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow The Day I Snapped, The Cinematics, The February Solution, Aviator Shades, Turning 13, Josephine. from Vic and Gills website.
Turning 13 have been know to dabble in post-rock, not much though as we tend to write more "conventional songs" check out the track, funnily enough "instrument" from our ep and come see us play with Jetplane Landing on the 3rd of May at Kef.
Got ma ticket yesterday, haven't seen them since Hundred Reasons so im looking forward to it, also my first gig in the backroom at Moshulu, hope the sound is good.
