...did any of you happen upon a thick black fleece top? It was sitting with all of the equipment near the fire door. If you picked this item up by mistake could you please pm me so that I can retrieve it?

I'd be there.

Does an electric guitar not produce notes without them being electrified and amplified' date=' which only serves to distort them. What has been called music throughout history has been the sound of notes, not the noise that accompanies them via electric instruments. That is artificial.[/quote']
does noise accompany a note? when you say 'note' i assume you refer to something that's determined by the frequency of the sound. isn't this note a characteristic of the sound? can you have a note without a noise? isn't that a bit daft?

i wouldn't phish on that guy from marillion if he was on fire.

What' date=' to get to Edinburgh and back?! What does your car run on, nitro?![/quote']
a conservative estimate, a full tank of 30 divided between three people. Apologies if I offended your infinite wisdom.

We have a few empty seats in our car, so if anyone wants a lift to and from the Deicide gig and is willing to chip in for petrol costs pm me. Shouldn't be more than a tenner each, hopefully less if we fill all the seats. Open invitation, so strangers are very welcome!

As for the "need for Satanism in black metal"' date=' I'd disagree and say that the defining element of "black metal" was the "satanic element", otherwise, it'd be death metal.
Totally untrue. BM, to my ears anyway, is fairly easily distinguished from death metal. I think you'll find that most who use satanic imagery in heavy metal are not doing so to express any sort of genuine satanic belief, more for theatrical effect. It can appear pretty daft, but that's not really the point. Anything that is slightly surreal or not 100% matter of fact can appear daft. There are plenty of BM bands who actively dissassociate themselves from the satanic stuff.

Burzum's non-synth albums are still amazing, though I must have now heard them hundreds of times! A great place to start.

Never in my life have I seen such shameless ripping off of Unholy Legion. Shameless.

Indeed he does!
It came out at the start of the month, one-up seem to be stocking it just now. It sounds great to my untrained d&b ears.

I'd recommend getting hold of Vile/Bleak by Serum, on Penny Black records. He's an ex-resident of Aberdeen too, used to appear at jungle nation as Scam. It's the dogs bollocks.
