  1. Wirelessly posted (MOT-T720/PM_G_05.31.1CR MIB/2.0 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Link/5.1.1a) For my sins, I have heard very little of MMW (probably due 2 a very busy 4th year at uni). However, I have heard a lot about them + I am eager 2 hear. I promise 2 download, listen + provide positive feedback in the next day or so. Where were the tracks re
  2. It's very difficukt to compare the two I'd say. If members of Sparta and The Mars Volta had not been in such a successful and highly regarded band, they would have very little in common. Sparta are very under-rated at what they do - they are more than just a run of the mill post-hardcore band. I listened to wiretap scars for the first time in ages at a mates house the other day and I did think 'jeez, these guys have actually got something good going here'. I love the Mars Volta, and as Dave said, they do take way more risks musically and they are unbelievable live. So, in conclusion, i'm going to sit on the fence and say I prefer At the Drive-In!!
  3. Two ace guitars for very reasonable prices : ) Itching to buy my '72 Fender Tele Custom, so might ask R&B what they would give me for a part-exchange.
  4. This is true. I'm exactly sure of the details as yet tho.
  5. I have a feeling that this is going to be a mental night.
  6. No problem at all. I will ensure that that does not happen. The people who have come on our buses have been very well behaved thus far.
  7. Ach well....must be a very small Aberdeen contingent comeing through for the Biffy gig. You got your lift sorted out yet KarmaTsunami?
  8. Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty with 3 x Humbuckers. Mahogany body with alder top, mat finish and gold hardware. Retails at around 450 - 500. Will sell for 300 and will throw in a hardcase worth 100!!! It is an outstanding guitar and is generally rated on a par with a true Les Paul Custom. I've had it for 5 years but it is in excellent condition and has been recently set up. I've gigged it for the past two year with The Gloria Flaw and it has served me very well! For more information have a look at the Epiphone website. The relevant page can be found at the following link: http://www.epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=51&CollectionID=6 Also, check out some excellent reviews at Harmony Central:http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data4/Epiphone/Elite-Les-Paul-Custom-01.html Epiphone '58 Corina Flying V with 2 x Humbuckers. Maple neck, korina body and gold hardware.Retails at around 350 - 400. Will sell for 250 and will throw in a brand new Ritter guitar bag with delux padding worth 70. I have had this guitar for around 18 months and is it the same condition in which it was purchased. This guitar also has a very good set-up and has been gigged with The Gloria Flaw. For more information have a look at the Epiphone website. The relevant page can be found at the following link:http://www.epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=31&CollectionID=3 Again, check out some rad reviews at Harmony Central:http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data4/Epiphone/58-Korina-Reissue-V-01.html If you are interested, e-mail me at the following address: r_e_watson@hotmail.com I am based in both Aberdeen and Forres, so if you are interest in coming to have a look at either guitar I can easily get them to either location! Cheers,Ross
  9. There are still hundreds of tickets available for this gig, probably due to the fact that everyone think's it's sold out!! Well, it was for a while, but it is now being held in the cow shed at the Loft which has a capacity of 900. This is a fantastic opportunity to see one of Scotland's leading rock acts in very unique surroundings with the added bonus of some local support (The Gloria Flaw & The Method). It's going to be a top night, definately not one to be missed!! If you are not one of the lucky people who win tickets on Radio 1 or Moray Firth Radio, you can purchase tickets for yourself and all of your mates by phoning Grigor at the loft directly on: (01343) 850078. Hope to see you all there.... Cheers Ross (TGF) P.S. Anyone going and got tickets already?!
  10. Brilliant, thanks for getting back to me!
  11. I will be there!! Will try to bring some people along.
  12. Good day, Mark Nicol from Exile has asked us (The Gloria Flaw) to play a gig at the Moorings on Saturday the 5th of June. I've not been to a gig at your venue before (sorry, major uni stress lately!!) and I was wondering if there are any age restrictions? We regualrly organise a 16/24 seater-bus from Forres (where are originally from) for people to come through to see us play. The people that usually take the bus are between the ages of 14 and 18 which was fine for the last gig at Kef with Jetplane Landing as kids over 14 were allowed in. If you could let me know, it would be much apreciated as i'm about to start taking numbers for our bus! Cheers, Ross
  13. You have to see Fickle Public asap man! Hands down the best unsigned band in Scotland....in my opinion anyways!!
  14. Jeff Buckley is god. Not much more can be said. Deathcab are are amazing as well. Maroon 5 are a bit dodgy mate! See ya Friday!!
  15. Wirelessly posted (MOT-T720/PM_G_05.31.1CR MIB/2.0 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Link/5.1.1a) Is this Findo Gask from Inverness? I met the them a couple of months back & they said they had heard of a band with the same name.
  16. Wirelessly posted (MOT-T720/PM_G_05.31.1CR MIB/2.0 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Link/5.1.1a) My flatmate picked up The Walkmen album a few days back. It does sound quite poor, their recent single is quite cool though. Surviving the Quiet is a rawkin album!

  19. Wirelessly posted (MOT-T720/PM_G_05.31.1CR MIB/2.0 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Link/5.1.1a) The Killers are rad! YCNI:M are amazing as well. An album everyone should get hold of is Seafood's 'As the Cry Flows'. It just came out and it is just great. Mightily impressed!

  21. Will catch up with you next time i'm back Claire, which will probably be at the Biffy gig on the 28th. Not quite a teacher yet, don't get my results for another 6/7 weeks and I really need to get my final assignment done before i've got a hope of passing! On that note, must run and do some work.
  22. I've seen Jetplane like 4/5 times now and this was the best time by far. They were nothing short of inspiring! The crowd were just spot-on throughout the night.
  23. I'm going to be staying back in Forres for a few days, as its going to be a huge night on the 28th. May need some recovery time!
  24. The last bus woud be too early i'm afraid. You do just need your student card to get student discount on the No. 10 bus.
