I have a Peavey 6505 that is in need of a service and a revalve as I'm looking to sell it soon. Dunfermline is too far to take it considering I don't drive, so I was wondering if people would recommend r&b to do the job I require. Or if anyone has any other recommendations, it would be amazing. It has a completely unique gain stage and pre-amp section. TONNES(!!!) of bands I love use these, most notably Stephen Brodsky from Cave In, and I just love the sound of them. Hearing them in the flesh is pretty impressive as well. Face melting. Point is, I can buy another Orange again if I miss it that much.

Words cannot describe how much I want one of these in my life. Shame they are a fucking hipster amp these days sending prices soaring.

ah man, that's a real shame. I mean, I don't really particularly want to sell it, but if I could to fund this other beast, then so be it. it is a beautiful amp, and I would be gutted to see it go...but needs must and all that

Basically just testing the waters with this one. I bought this, brand new in 2010. I have been the only owner and the only person who has used this amplifier since I bought it. It is in fantastic condition (couple dings to the tolex, but that is it). Never had a single problem with it in the 2 years I have owned it, and it still sounds fantastic! Been offered another amplifier, which is one of my dream amplifiers, so looking to fund that purchase. These are still around £1200 - £1300 new. Wouldn't be looking for anything less than £900. Like I say, just testing waters, but get in touch if interested.

what make are the speakers in it dude?

Hello, I am looking into replacing the power valves in my Orange Rocker 50 MK II. I currently have the stock valves in (Ruby Tube EL34's) and I'm looking to chuck in a couple of Sovtek or JJ KT88's. Obviously the biasing will need to be checked etc. Does anyone have any experience with doing this themselves or can someone recommend a good local shop or person that can do it for me. I would normally go to Dennis Marshall, but arsed going all the way to Dunfermline for a ten minute job... ta!

the whole album is mastered to clip. It was mastered through analogue tube equipment and turned up to hit the reds so it sounded as violent as possible, and as unclean as we could make it, without sacrificing the level of listenability. In other words, it is all meant to sound like that, but I can appreciate it isn't for everyone.

it wouldnt ever compare to my Mesa 400+, but that is just personal taste, in my opinion, they are 2 of, if not, the 2 best bass amps in the world.
