best txt ever:
"welcome to dumpsville
population - you!"
alternatively, i would get your girlfriend/boyfriend round to your house and also get someone else you'd rather bend it up round, hide the newcomer in your wardrobe and then, when your partner is asleep, nail the other person and spaff in your partners face. then, in the morning, when your partner wonders what's all over their face, say it was the 'you're dumped faries' with their dumping serum
it's a classy way to do it

the important thing is that you're secretly trying to make people think of the fantastic WetWetWet debut album popped in, souled out' with your name
and that's good because wetwetwet are the bollocks!

well i thought it was an awesome night all round.
femora were excellent for a first gig. like ben said, i thought it began to drag a bit because there were some pretty long songs, and there were a few little mistakes, but for a first gig, i was impressed. we were shite at our first gig. mind you. we're still shite now, but that's besides the point! anyway, i think that with a little bit of polishing and a few more gigs under the belt, they could be onto a winner.
weapon were the band of the night for me. they were the main reason i was there, having not had a chance to see them yet and i thought they were awesome. they looked like a band on stage, you could see they were having fun and the songs all contained enough to keep you interested without forgetting to rock out!
PoO were quality. it's been a long time since i've seen them but bob has clearly spent every hour since then working on his stage moves! he could maybe do to look for the volume knob on his amp and turn it in the down direction at some point and stephen was wearing the largest, whitest trousers that my eyes have ever witnessed, but apart from that, a quality set
and finally came quik. they were heavy as fuck for the most part, and sounding great. i thought ben was gonna go right throught the kit on nicotine and blairs new amp is sounding sweet (although he needs more low end on it!) nonetheless, they were excellent and brought the night to a pleasurable end.
it's all gravy and well worth getting up at 5:30 this morning to get on a train back to glasgow so that i could make it to a professional software development lecture!

i qouldn't mind having a fiddle about to see if it does anything exciting to a bass. have you tried i on a bass at all?

this thrusday (19th) FeSTR play a one-off gig at the strathclyde union. it's on the top floor of the union (vertigo) and i'm not sure of times yet but i guess it'll be about 9pm.
should be fun, and pretty spontaneous too, which is the way we like to keep it!
i will remind you that there's nothing exciting happening that night anywhere else in glasgow. especially not in the QMU!

i was of the impression that post-rock involved making non-rock music using rock instruments. therefore are post-grunge and post-hardcore and post-rock not all the same thing? unless hardcore and grunge contained some instruments i never noticed (like the cello!)
putting the work post in front of a genre seems like the easy way to a new genre these days. it's too confusing for me!

a few years ago i spent ages looking in to getting a tremolo fitted to one of my basses. apparently there was only one company in the world that ever did it and they went bust. they were supposed to be rubbish
possibly the worst idea i ever had!

there's no denying the bootylicious nature of my bad self! also, it'll start of silly and get even sillier as our set progresses so i think that anyone who likes to party should head along. special guests and magestic covers galore! i might even buy some cheese slices and hand them out free of charge, cos that's thekind of nice guy i am!
also, if you like to listen to musicians who are actually good, then the X-Certs are playing an acoustic set and Martin P (the abbreviation for those who don't know the name!) are gonna be rocking the show!

jamesy was on the txt telling me about that earlier, and i would have loved to come, but it looks like i'm gonna be heading back to glasgow on friday now instead of saturday.
i'm sure it'll be a good one anyway!

that gig's gonna be our last until at least easter and more likely even summer by the looks of things so you'd best believe that we're gonna rock it off the hinges! i'm looking forward to it a hell of a lot!

they do lay it on pretty heavy, only because they know so much but they're both easy to talk to and they'll guide you through whatever it is you need. try PMing them and see how you get on.
also, never ask me for any advice on electrical things! i have absolutely no idea about amps, i just turn up and plug in to whatever hole's available. it's a technique which has served me well in all areas of my life so far!

get a 10 watt 1ohm cab. this would be silly, but you might somehow be able tomake it go on fire which can only be a good thing!
only jesting, i'd follow ian and G, they know what they're on about and i'm an idiot!
