  1. Am I the only one who thinks "Snookum" might be "sweetlittlewitches"?

Snookum posts remarkably similar stupid/offensive things as slw... Of course I could be wrong...

Doubtful, given her gallery. Unless she stole someone else's photo album and scanned it in.... You decide.

Maybe she just has a healthy cynicism and lack of respect of "the scene"...?

Ooooh, I just love starting forest fires.

    :bat:

  2. SLAYER To Issue Reign In Blood Live DVD [Hot Flashes - 04.07.07 20:28:41] If what were planning for the final 45-seconds of the song Raining Blood looks half as cool as we hope it will' date=' added guitarist King, the kids will be blown away. And well probably have to replace all of our gear![/quote']

So, they'll be dropping a load of blood onto the stage then...? Anyone would think they'd been to a Karloff show.

  3. Taken from Goatfucker.co.uk and written by Aberdeens own Evil Monkey Alistair Strachan (He isn't much of a Bonesaw fan obviously!).

Gig : Open Air' date=' Hearsecrash

    Venue : Dr Drakes, Aberdeen

    Date : Sat Jul 3rd '04

    Review :

Openening act, the three piece Open Air got things off to a decent start with a tuneful set of trad metal. Interspersing their own numbers with piss takes of The Darkness and Status Quo while throwing in covers of Metallica's Frantic and some Deep Purple, these guys did a fine job. What wasn't expected was the ferocious assault unleashed by the amazing Hearsecrash. Featuring both bassist Barry and the vocalist from Aberdeen Death metallers Bonesaw in their foursome, if you like Slayer it's fair to say you'll LOVE Hearsecrash. Whereas Bonesaw are a competent enough act elevated by their singers powerful death / grindcore grunting, this lot are the best new metal band I've heard in Scotland, period. Don't miss them if they play near you. TOP BANANA!!!!

Seriously - check these dudes out if you haven't already...[/quote']

Yeah yeah, but what we really want to know is did the bass make people feel sick......?

  4. Haha' date=' MMW or Karloff to be sure :D..fuck, i'm even typing like an irish person after impersonating an irish person badly last night :([/quote']

Judging by what I heard in One-Up of MMW (yet to encounter them live), they'd give a number of "pro" bands a pasting. Regardless of what you think of their genre of music or attitudes; Their musicality, individual and collective abilities seem to be matchworthy of any band. As for Karloff, well, we just do our thing, and you folks get to decide the merits and demerits of what we do either by itself or up against anyone else. We won't be doing any further local gigs for some time, due to our upcoming Friday 13th CD launch at the Lemon Tree in August. Meantime we have a date mid-July in Ireland with a band you might have heard of, and a bunch of dates in August around the CD launch.

  5. Well, any promo is good promo. The way I see it, if it catches the attention of one person and they think "Hmmm, might go along to that", then it's been worth it. Thus far, the EE has treated us well enough, bar using a photo of an old-lineup. They did the following last year, after I emailed them to let them know about our local Damned and Misfits support slots :

    KARLOFF-E.E.-22-05-03.gif

What is in the article isn't *exactly* what I said and or how I said it on the phone, but the jist is there and he didn't write anything that was purely untrue. Maybe the article did nothing to further attendance at either gig, but it did no harm at all. I know that we have a very keen and loyal 15-20 year old fanbase who come to our shows and spend their hard-earned money on our merchendise, and I'd imagine that most of those would have a cursory glance at least through their parent's EE (looking for the TV guide, maybe) and hopefully notice the feature on us. Maybe not, but as a band we lost nothing in having the article, and I don't doubt that most of the readership thought "weird looking people and not my choice of music". But, at least they looked and considered us even for a second! We don't expect to attract mainstream attention from such local exposure... Who would?!

So, I will be getting in touch with them again around our support of the Misfits in Ireland next month, and the subsequent mini-album launch in August as part of the Summer of Fat at Fat Hippy Records. Hopefully together they will warrant another feature, and it might help us sell some CDs and fill the Lemon Tree a little more, and also might further the reputation of Fat Hippy Records and their efforts towards locally originated music.

  6. Thanks for coming along and for the kind comments. I thought we started pretty good, but got pretty shonky after I busted the string and had to tune/use my spare. Ne'r mind though, next gig we play here will be the CD launch in August, and we'll be well on form for that one. We also have the gig with the Misfits in Belfast to look forward to in a couple of weeks time... Rock!

  7. I might well take you up on that offer sir! Let me get back to you on it once I've done some forward planning on the matter :)

Roughly how much for the diesel would you think?

Dunno. It will be what it will be, and if you come then you pay us 1/6th the cost. It doesn't have to be right then and there, just as long as we get it before too long after coming back. It's a diesel transit van, so shouldn't be bad at all. The new transits are pretty quick and frugal at the same time.
