Sweet as, Daz.
Hugh Anderson at Stable Table Promotions is the man to speak to.Are there contact details for him somewhere?

Hello,
I put up a thread like this ages ago, but can't remember any of the responses. I'm basically looking to find out who are the best people to approach regarding acoustic gigs?
Any help would be much appreciated

shame that wasn't on the T-Break webshite

PVH of Cammachmore sounds even better:dunce:
That's a massive insult. I've been to Cammachmore.
Hines, kill him.

Our elected politicians appear to make the mistake of appeasing big business' date=' corporate entity, and the market, the electorate are secondary in their considerations, I think this causes the public dissillusionment with the normal political process, giving extreme values a greater chance.[/quote']
The electorate are always secondary because we live in a democracy where instead of the people demanding what they want, a party sells its ideas to the public, jesus, Lippmann was going on about this back in the 1920s. There is no shock there.
What if I said I was a supporter of the BNP. I would be a prime example of...
a) The political parties in this country being all too similar
b) Political communications playing too large a role in politics (search google for "Blair" and "Changemaker". That speech is rhetoric in action and a large proportion of people don't even realise it.
c) Media coverage of asylum seekers etc.
I'd like to know exactly which news papers this story was featured in. If they were tabloids then Graeme, you should be ashamed of yourself leading these kids . Tabloids = popular culture, extremist, cartoon stories = sales.
I'd like to also make another point about the number of posters who automatically believed this thread without checking facts themselves. These are, or will be voters. What is truth or logos to you people?!
Fucking sheep.

Fugazi are exceptional, but everyone expects me to say that. It's hard trying to get a band together, I've been trying to get something going for the last year after my old band died, but no luck (although that's down to study commitments as well).

Where in the city is making them (badges) these days' date=' if anywhere?
Answers not on a postacrd and in no more than 300 words...

football
in the uk football is at its highestsalary/lowestskill ratio ever' date='
will however enjoy watching juve tonight against londons
third best team.
rugby
i agree & thats fine unless you support the english rugby union team...........[/quote']
hahaha, never miss an opportunity, do you Mike?
football
London's third best team beat Juve 2-0 and have got further than any British side in the competition
rugby
Brian Ashton said this week "I've got unfinished business with the England side". He was backs coach when England spanked everyone in 2001, winning the six nations back to back. 230 points scored (still a record, and France didn't even get close this year with 148), 29 tries put past the opposition, record wins against Italy 80-23, Wales 50-10 and we thumped Scotland 43-3 and France 48-19. Not my words, but the words of Scrum Monthly.
Add other coaches like John Wells, Shaun Edwards who will succeed Lyndon and Larder and soon order WILL be restored.

nah mate its the other embrace
not the diy one' date=' but the mushy indie one[/quote']
There was another Embrace? I didn't know a second Embrace existed.
Nah, now my posting is completely taking the piss. Imagine though, Ian MacKay singing a football song of any kind. Horrific.

EMBRACE!!! That's amazing, I'm surprised they're getting back together for something like this. Would have thought Discord would have ruled out such a move as selling out.
Anyway, just shows you football is rubbish these days and that rugby is a true natured sport.

Ross was the casualty, left behind enemy lines.

Yeah we did have a trousers round our ankles on stage. Fudge wouldn't let us take part in the drinking competition because there were "too many teams," but what I believe happened is they either thought "these guys are ace drinkers we can't let them take part, it will be slaughter" or "these guys are shitfaced, we can't let them take part, it will be sickness and slaughter".

Bri: Flying circus?
Teabags: Definitely

I've been dreading this day for ages, but now it's here I want to celebrate.
It's my birthday today, and I'm going to the Moorings for 8.30 tonight. If there's anyone who wants to come down for some fun then please do. Since my phone died at New Year I lost a lot of peoples numbers, so this is the next best thing, woop.
Hope you can make it,
x

...Or if you want to watch it instead of analysing it folks' date=' go and see it.[/quote']
I watched it, and it was complete garbage. Period.

I thought it was absolutely shit. As Subsisty said, Paul McGuigan is of Gangster No. 1 fame, however he's also known to be one of the most criticised directors in film, and I'm not surprised.
The cinematography and the camera work was inconsistent, the story for the first two thirds cliched (every character was from some sort of boring hap-hazard detective novel, Lucy Liu - ditzy, sporadic, cute, love interest, Josh Hartnett the downtrodden good looking hero, Bruce Willis - every assassin role ever, Freeman/Kingsley - one was the smooth talking, Homer/Sun-su quoting boss, the other the interestingly, oddball, it honestly felt that the Jewish thing was thrown in there for some differation).
The acting was okay in areas, average in others - Willis, the same role he's done in so many films *yawn*, Hartnett, very average, Liu, where is her career going?
The film couldn't make up its mind where it was going, and referenced Pulp novella's so badly it was supposed to redeem itself? It was jarred and fragmented. Themes and styles clashed: comedy, pulp, thriller, action, dark noir, love story, hitchcockian finale, in the end it, just seemed misguided.
It was almost as if the producers and director where trying to be immensely clever, creating a document on the 40s thriller, 70s pulp novella mixed with techniques currently in use in film today. It didn't work.
Those flashbacks as well looked awful with that jerky camera, ugh.
I'm sorry, but it's the worst film I've ever seen, not because it was simply awful (Freddie Vs Jason, Doom as two recent examples), but because it was done by people who can actually formulate good ideas and portray them well on film, who then made a monstrosity.

...what are the chances that I'll go out and pass out after a couple of drinks? ANYthing crazy on tonight?

Sonic Youth TITP 2002, Slint ATP 2005, Bis TITP 1999, Eska TITP 2002, PRML SCRM Glasgow Green 2000, blah blah
My worst moment was getting my face cut by Neil HG, while chasing him naked around the campsite at TITP, after he kept bothering me in my tent.
Horrific, me holding my face, blood trickling down my arm, holding a plastic sheet round my waist.

I quite like The Evens, if only I didn't have to study.

you're only saying that so Maxi doesn't write abusive things on the black board:up:

I was never really into ipods or itunes until I got one for my christmas two years ago. Deathpodal is now dead, so I got a nu-pod (see what I did there) with video play capabilities.
Anyway what video did I find and purchase (I'm against this buying online thing, but got a free voucher with my new acquisition), but The Blood Brothers - Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck. Now if only I could get Deftones - Change, I'd be happy to never darken my computer screen with the itunes music store again.
Acoustic gigs where/promoters?
