  1. Hey everyone, been a while since I posted on here.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm presenting an alternative music show on Leith FM 98.8 every Sunday from 2pm til 4pm, showcasing the best bands from around Edinburgh, Scotland and beyond!

If any bands want to send in a promo / demo, then send me a message or go crazy and visit MySpace.com - Al Chivers - Edinburgh, UK - Alternative / Punk / Rock - www.myspace.com/alonleithfm. Boost! Even if you're not in a band, stop by the site and have a look!

    Nice wan!

  2. No pints for him, he's recovering.

Curse your eyes Al. You'd think you'd have learned after that time we woke up in the pumpkin patch bleeding from our eyes wearing string vests and sandals with socks. For the love of fuck.

I just remember my inner thighs all a quiver, rolling about shouting "Aye, Al?" and "Yas Min" with pen marks all over my face. No that was Maxi.

...Now I remember, blood tears and French perfume....

  3. There was good news regarding Marshall's condition today, so looks like he has a small chance of getting out of hospital before xmas.

I'm still pretty wiped out, but am hoping to make it back to work for Friday so i can pick up work to do over the school hols (sad or what?)

I cant thank everyone enough for the wellwishes, its all really appreciated

Ross, I knew Deadloss were bad, but this excuse is a bit much to make up.

(Very glad to hear you're okay, pint soon?)

  4. Yes!

I'd like that or Let's Not Wrestle Mt. Heart Attack by Liars played on a 2k PA.

Haha, true class in a casket, while the other fresh corpses roll in their resting places!

All I know, is that I'd want to make everyone as miserable and venegeful as I did on my death bed. Screw this Jeff Buckley business.

  5. Up here?

    Are you back already, Alastair?

I'm out tonight before I head back Shaz if you fancy a drink. Dave you and Hef are more than welcome too, but I don't have your mobile numbers these days

Anyway... back to topic, yeah they were the guys who almost scrapped with Craig and Dave from Sidca. I hated that gig. The "we're all from Edinburgh/Glasgow so fuck off" mentality was awful. In saying that though, those bands who came up for that gig (Fighting Red Adair - who were quite nice guys, Sams Hot Car Lot and Senator) were much better than us and Subsistence that night (I'm sure Michael would agree).

Anyway, I really like the demo, more than I did when I originally got it off Shaz DRakes.

I'm sure Derek from Paravion knows them.

  6. Lord Archer was sentenced and imprisoned for perjury. Which he committed as a witness in his libel case against the Daily Star' date=' which was a civil trial also. Lord Archer was also in court to clear his name - and won his case. It was later proven that he had lied in his libel case, which is why the perjury case came about.[/quote']

Spot on Paul. A number of papers considered running the story regarding Archer, however none of them thought they could afford the repercussions that could ensue a possible libel case - The Daily Star thought otherwise...

  7. Particularly when he addressed the court as "brothers and sisters" in his 80 minute closing summary!

Sheridan is renowned for doing that though. His use of political communication is pretty good, he manages and wields the "mob" well.

His stunt up in Aberdeen (which was purely pointless, simply media hungry and provoking a crowd reaction in my opinion) when the Queen passed through displayed this. He addressed everyone as brothers and sisters, and then managed to deliver a speech which had certain members of the public shouting out Sex Pistol quotes.

I agree with some of the things he stands for, and have to admire the way he can manipulate coverage.
