  1. Pencil us in for the 17th, but I still have to confirim that. As for support, there's someone out there who may be getting asked, if I feel merciful. That's you Brian.
  2. Can we book the mighty Drakes for December 20th, (Saturday) please? Jingle bells etc. if not, how about the 13th? Cheers big ears.
  3. Though saying that, I was playing a strat through a big AVT at Drakes, had the gain at 2, channel vol about 6 and the master at 9 and it could feel it feeding back. My SG doesn't do that. Probably a combination of sheer volume + distance from amp (about 3 feet) and single coils. Didn't sound too bad though - Hendrix style feedback baby.
  4. I sent some posters up today to Drakes for our gig on the 15th. Would you guys be able to put some up, and Brian, would you be able to put a few up in the more disreputable parts of town? Craig
  5. Is it possible to use that HH amp you have as a bass cabinet. i.e. if we brought a bass head but no cab, could we use it? Cheers, Craig
  6. Plus, as for it being nothing new musically, we do have other more complex tracks, but due to monetary pressures can't record them all. So we had to pick our most immediate tracks to record as they are "demo" recordings. Just the way it goes. We're playing Drakes a week on Wednesday (see my signature) if you fancy watching a whole set. The other bands we're playing with are damn good as well Craig
  7. www.deadenstereo.co.uk, then the MP3 page. Go for Never Meant Enough or Storyteller. You could also stop by the reviews page to see what it is you're downlaoding... Craig
  8. There's a reason you're not allowed on the internet, and it's rambling monologues about Bodger the Badger etc. Try and save poor aberdeen-music.com's bandwith aye?
  9. I did Theology actually. I'm training to be a priest just now. I'm just trying to find away to reconcile that and the 13 year old satan groupies sucking my cock while i eat dog food out of their cornholes. Better go speak to my Director of Studies...
  10. I had the DSL201, worked fine for me. Occasionally blew a fuse but i did run it pretty hard. Sold it to my flatmate and about two years (from original purpose) it crapped out on him and he had to have the whole thing re-soldered, for 30. I've heard about this happenning quite a lot on these amps, often sooner than two years. But it didn't cause me any problems regularly gigging with it. Dunno what you want to take from that but... Craig
  11. Support is from ENKI - www.enkiactionheroes.com. they're pretty good, and good guys to go out drinking with
  12. Nah, all their valves are matched, doesn't affect the price.
  13. Ok, I'll call that a confirmation. I know of an Edinburgh band who should be able to get a fair few fannies in. More details to follow....
  14. Yeah, getting better valves does make a difference. I run those Sveltanas in my Marshall, previously having the Ruby Tubes and they are better. However you can get them cheaper from: www.watfordvalves.com They have almost every type of valve you could imagine and long test reports telling you the differences between them all. I've bought valves from them a few times and they deliver quickly and the valves are always working fine, not broken or anything. Here's an example of the prices: Sveltana EL34 (dual or quad matched) 10.64 each (you have to add VAT to that so probably about 12 I think). That's way cheaper than the prices quoted above. They also have lots special offers and have a different type of Sveltana called the EL34R for 8.51 each. There you go.
  15. I've booked Bannermans in Edinburgh for Saturday Nov 1st. Do you want to play, since you can't do the other Edinburgh one? Craig
  16. MY RIGHTEOUS ANGER WILL BE INFLICTED UPON YOU, YOUR CHILDREN, AND YOUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN! Psyche!
  17. Just confirming that date deadenstereo Stigma Deadloss Superstar 7 Stone Under 3 What time are doors normally, and when would you like us there for soundchecks etc? Craig
  18. Stigma are the other band. www.stigma.ezhoster.com It's quite a disorientating website. I get seasick. They're pretty good though. Bit of GERRRUNNGGGGE!!!!! Ooh, can I wear that flannel shirt? Craig
  19. If your amp doesn't sound better when it's cranked there's something wrong with it. One - it's a valve amp => getting the power tubes working will make it sound better. This is fact. Two - The speakers - When they're moving around more (at a higher volume) they begin to interact with the amp tone and colour the sound slightly, normally in a good way. Maybe they're broke. Keep it up loud (like above 4 if it's a 50W or 6 if 100W) and then re-EQ it as it's different from your bedroom volume level EQ. Plus on an a whole rock'n'roll attitude thing, work with me here!
  20. Here's one fannybaws - Guess what Deadenstereo did/do at uni? Jon - ? Craig - ? Chris - ?
