Yeah, it was pretty disappointing. Some freshers were carted in just after Downfall started but didn't stick around.
Good night though, loved Thrashist Regime, good work guys

Any idea of running order or stage times?
-
No more one night stands for him methinks. That said, probably never had any in the first place.
That's what I was thinking. I think most girls would edge slowly towards to door on seeing those tattoos. Having said that, I've been out with guys with tats and not really inspected them properly for ages. Still, they're slightly worrying!

Oh my god! I'm in awe. He looks quite innocent in his photo too.

HMV in the run up to Christmas is hell on earth. Fucking insane because everyone can find something that's a suitable gift in there and the floor managers are total cocks. Not recommended.

I was amused that Jack White threw a wobbly about it being used for a Coke Zero advert, when about 2 years ago he wrote a song specifically for Coca-Cola.
Don't think much of the song, as a Jack White effort it's safe and a bit of a no brainer, an album filler. As a Bond theme it's pretty shite.

The man that posts here as Jimsin, no doubt! He'll be able to put you in touch with Keeva...
Still...burlesque, bah, and indeed, humbug...
It's all got a bit fashionable hasn't it. Every girl you meet is giving it a bash and paying for lessons when all you need are a pair of heels, long gloves, a mirror and some music, preferably with a sax solo.
Regardless, Sapphire used to do burlesque classes on the first Saturday of the month during the day with shows at night, give it a google and you'll find the website with details.

Damn yous. Why do students get in for free? I've got less money now than I did at Uni seeing as the SAAS isn't making monthly donations

May I recommend the early 90s band Jellyfish who were the perfect powerpop band, brilliant but short lived. Only two albums (Bellybutton and Split Milk) but fantastic and legendary
YouTube - Jellyfish - The Ghost at Number One (Live on Later...)
The Grays (Brendan Benson and Jason Falkner)
YouTube - The Grays - Very Best Years
Jason Falkner ex Jellyfish
Then there's the older bands like Cheap Trick, Big Star and Badfinger etc et
Winner. Jason Faulkner also produced Brenden Benson's second album (Lapalco) which is one of my favourite album...hence the use of Metarie as an internet name

three of us is plenty...sure the bar will still make money
Would offer up my spare room but I usually have to be at work for stupid o'clock (around 6.30) so probably not the best plan.

whootage! What is it with Deadloss and Swedish bands?
-
This is going to be awesome Haven't seen Thrashist Regime yet.
-
Indeed! Sounds rather Ben Folds-ish. Which is a good thing before people start bitching

Aye, something to do with the fire regulations. There was a thing in the P&J about it on Tuesday I think. Hopefully will be open this weekend though.

Yes. Yes I would. Purely for the banter, he sounds like a cracking laugh.

Thought it was worth explaining this in more detail [before I get flamed]:
Imagine you have one customer who drinks only Brand X, and will sit and guzzle half a case of brand X in an evening. If that customer visits several times a week then you'll need to order 15-20 cases of brand X per month. Now imagine another customer who does the same with brand Y and so forth.
So that's what...everyone who goes to The Moorings
No Baltica though, or are we just talking bottled beers?

Watched The Princess Bride last night and it's still one of my favourite films. I've yet to meet a person who doesn't like it.
-
Just finished 'Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of The West' and it was brilliant. First book I've read in ages that has left me at a bit of a loss as to what to read next.

Other potential Eva / Tupac collaborations:
Thongbird
Crime After Crime
Dark End Of The Streetz
Time Is A Dealer
Honeysuckle Hoes
Chain-Gang of Fools
Where's Alan? This is his forte, let the punning commence!

Apparently the AU Union is closed and the students voted for 2 venues to be unofficial unions. No big surprise, Liquid was one of them and The Tunnels is the other 'alt' one. Not entirely sure what it involves apart from hosting stuff on Freshers Week, I would assume.

I was slightly baffled by that. I like how the album title is reminiscent of that 'Somewhere over the rainbow' song she covered. My boyfriend was sure it was just a re-release until I pointed out that the sticker says 'all new songs'. She was either extremely prolific while she was alive or there's something sinister afoot.

It's a sunny day and I'm off work, always a winner. Although obviously I'm not making the most of it if I'm sitting on a computer
Meeting a buddy for coffee who I've not seen in ages in a wee while, then dinner with another friend then over to my boyfriends to watch cheesy horror films, good times.
And one of my best friends is coming back from America on Sunday.

cheers guys.
Not looking for cheapness as a factor particularly, we're just having a night away for the sake of it and want somewhere that's decent value for money. Found a few nice ones on lastminute.com so will investigate more.
Happy thread

I got a new mobile the other day off eBay. Bit of a bargain but even more so considering it came with a rude video downloaded on it. Thankfully not amatuer stuff, just some blonde chick with mahoosive boobies wandering around a field. Very entertaining stuff
