is it just me or are all the embedded soundcloud links not showing?
Working for me.

Unfortunately, due to a few problems with the forum software conversion process, I've had to postpone the upgrade to the web site. I hope to make a second attempt in a few weeks time.
In the meantime, I've opened the web site to new registrations once again. These still have to the manually approved so please allow up to 24 hours for this to happen.

Will there be a light version?
The new skin on the web site is quite light actually (only the header and footer are dark). I'm afraid it will be a case of people having to like it as there is too much administrative overhead having multiple skins. Even having the two skins on the web site just now (light and dark) has proved to be a pain in the ass for me.

Cheers Keeno. I wasn't sure if Neil meant it wouldn't be happening because of the cost involved.
Yeah, the mobile app is sold separately and nothing we would have any control of, so not something I could offer to staff / sponsors / supporting members for free for example. It costs $1.99 for everyone (but will also work for other forums using the same software).

In response to some of the points made the new forum software will give us the following out-of-the-box:
- Greatly improved search
- Improved mobile experience - via both a "mobile" optimised version of the web site and a dedicated mobile app (this isn't free unfortunately and currently only available for iPhone/iPad - Android app is under development though). More info: http://www.invisionpower.com/mobile/
- Thread tagging (still very much undecided if I'll switch this on though)
Also agree with the points about us leveraging Twitter and Facebook more. I guess this is just something we need to start doing more.

Over the festive period I intend to upgrade the web site again and move to yet another forum platform. Unfortunately, due to a long running legal battle, the Xenforo software we use on this web site is no longer being actively developed and improved and this is starting to cause big problems for when problems do arise. The most serious of these so far being spammers circumventing all the controls we have in place to block them and successfully register and post on the site. I now have to moderate all new registrations manually which is a rather time consuming task.
We will be moving to the IP.Board software which will introduce a number of new features and I will also be reworking the design of the web site a little (maybe even a new logo!). I thought this would be a good opportunity for anyone to post a reply here with any ideas or changes you would like to see made and if some of these prove to be popular and feasible then I can also look at incorporating these into the new version of the web site, which will hopefully launch early in the New Year if not sooner.
Thanks everyone and may I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

That XCOM game has a serious flaw. 2nd copy of the game is now coming up with Disc Unreadable at irregular intervals. Unplayable pish.
Off to swap it for something that actually works.
I have no problems with playing Xcom bought and downloaded through Steam. Great game.

I paid to be a Supporter a week ago today, but nothing has happened yet?
Sorry, this should be corrected now. Thanks for your support!

Would love to see Torres score a breakaway winner!!
Scary!

Aberdeen fits a hell of a lot in for a population of only 220,000. We're a cosy wee bunch up here and I like the fact that I can walk down Union Street and bump into people I know.
That's the reason I left Aberdeen. It's a city only in name...in mentality and attitude it's a town.
I assume Doug Stanhope didn't have a great gig at the Music Hall tonight. He's just posted this on Twitter much to my amusement: https://twitter.com/#!/DougStanhope/status/185510909886726144

Yes, see my avatar to the left.
In all seriousness though, as soon as you subscribe you should be upgraded to Supporter status now. If that doesn't appear to be the case then please let me know and I'll rectify.

Can you remove my signature? I'm getting a bit bored looking at it. Cheers.
Done.

The aberdeen-music last.fm group is still active as well: http://www.last.fm/group/aberdeen-music
The last.fm app for Spotify is particularly cool for discovering and listening to new stuff.

And now I wait...
Wait no longer. Thanks.

Moose - can you message me the e-mail address you use with PayPal? I will then sort out your account.
-
That explains why there wasn't many people posting in that forum. Not many people could access it.
-
What about now?
-
Well, that's annoying. Sorry folks - your accounts should have automatically been upgraded but weren't for some reason. I've now upgraded the accounts I could recognise but some people use different e-mails addresses between PayPal and this web site, so if you have subscribed and your account hasn't been upgraded then please let me know and I'll get it fixed.
