psydoll
The Beastie Boys are taking a stand against Colonel Sanders. The graying MCs have joined periennal Democratic Presidential dark Horse the Rev. Al Sharpton to denounce Kentucky Fried Chicken's treatment of its poultry, or as PETA so melodramatically puts it "to speak out against KFC to defend the rights of chickens." In an open letter to KFC's corporate offices, a letter signed by all three Beasites, condemned the fried-chicken chain for refusing to order its poultry suppliers to change their farming habits, such as de-beaking chickens."You have the responsiblity to tell your suppliers that what they are doing is wrong," the letter, posted on the PETA web site, reads. "By doing nothing, you are to blame for the cruelty that these chickens endure, which is truly sickening."Of course, this is coming from a band whose 1989 opus, Paul's Boutique (Capitol), championed the joys of assaulting passers-by with raw eggs.
