If static X could manage writing an entire album out of the same 6 chords in dropped D, then i am sure the whole tone scale set will be easily done

What is the whole tone scale??? is it sort of the "full works"? or like every note on the fretboard or something, or 81 notes on the piano???

it means you go up a tone for each note. e.g.

A, B, C#, D#, F, G, A

its a good scale.
