Steviepearce
You've decided to go back to a fender?
meiklejohn
Sure have, few weeks back with a marshall stack, not even gigged and I'm thinking... This isn't half as good as my hotrod was.Marshall's sold so I'm ampless, got rehearsal tomorrow so was hoping to pickup something before then. Need to find out if the hotrod speakers are hard wired or if I could connect a head to it at a gig if it malfunctioned though.
Steviepearce
It's not hard wired it is fitted with an input jack as there is another input jack next to it to run an extension cab. When my hot rod came the speaker cable was out slightly so had to give it a push back in. It's 8 ohms tho so need to make sure your little head can do 8 ohms so you don't fuck the speaker and/or head.
meiklejohn
Ah ace yeah my little crate power block does 150 watts at 8ohms!
meiklejohn
Ah wait a minute tho... If it's a 40 watt hotrod and a 150 watt head will that work? :-/
Steviepearce
I wouldn't. just Google hit rod deluxe manual and it has all the info and diagrams in there. Not sure what wattage the speaker is. speakers are normally rated much higher than the amp but I still wouldn't put it through.
Alkaline
I'm pretty sure if you're talking about your crate power brick it's got a DI out on it which means you could just plug into the desk.
Steviepearce
^^ I was about to mention above or if you needed a backup get something like a nova system or multi fix pedal and go direct to a pa with a monitor coming back at you. I wouldn't want to risk running different heads and speakers that don't match.
