agree with ca_gere on the singing, but also it's just verse after verse after verse which makes me lose interest very quickly.

i don't know if that was a deliberate choice in order to aid with the 'story' of the song, but it just got a little tedious, i thought.

 

 

all for singing in doric/scots though, so it's nice to hear that.

It's a traditional ballad, so aside from breaking it up with an instrumental section (which may not be that interesting if it's just me and an acoustic) there's not much room to play with the format.

 

As for the singing, I feel my vocals are improving a lot.  I recorded this after a practice session so might have been a bit of tiredness creeping in. Certainly my fingers were feeling it after an hour and a half on the acoustic.
