KSJ81
Hey folksLooking for advice on monitors for my home studio I am in the process of setting up. I don't have a lot to spend at this stage, so any pointers, reviews or suggestions appreciatedcheers
FatHand
What's the budget you are setting aside for monitors? KRK rockets are supposed to be great value for money. Read up on them in sound on sound or any discussions on gearslutz. There are always alternatives offered at the same price range.
stoney_stu
I have the KRK Rockets .... I preferred my Tapco Monitors which had a nicer sound and suffered less from interference. One of the Tapcos pre-amps failed after 3 years if use ... suspect it was abused by teenage sons mates who for some reason thought it was OK to plug in a Line 6 Amp Model pedal and abuse the feck out of the speakers playing some god awful death metal thrash shoite ... I'll get around to repairing the tapcos at some point.Anyway I suggest you phone a company like Studio Spares and speak to them about monitors I think they have some decent people working there and have their own line in budget monitors.... Runcie
I've been meaning to get round to buying a set of the NS10 copies that Studiospares make. I had a hunt for reviews online and they seem pretty decent for the cost of them.http://www.studiospares.com/studio-monitors/studiospares-classic-sn10/invt/248000/
