AttitudeCastle
Hey Guys!Looking for some advice,My band are looking to host our own Gig event in the next few months on the date of our EP release (which will be whenever the show can be organised for) and have several acts lined up.Including Marionettes who may or may not be able to perform depending on the date,The biggest issue is that the ages of the memebers of the bands is 16-23ish, which means there are many venues who won't touch us with a barge pole due to the under 18's.The show would be an all evening event, with 3-7 bands (depending on what we can get and are allowed to do,Anyone have any reccomendations? Diesel
We were able to play the Malt Mill when our drummer was only 14. It was classed as a private function and therefore not subject to the usual regulations.

Diesel
Ooooh - I'm not sure What the Malty's capacity is - there was about 150 at the last gig we did there and it wass busy, but not jam-packed. Perhaps someone else on here knows.?I believe you can hire the Tunnels for private gigs - it's a decent sized venue.
Flights
250-500 is a pretty big region. I don't Tunnels capacity is even as high as 500.

AttitudeCastle
300 should be enough, though we can't be sure.Though 300 would be ideal even if that is maximum capacity!Tunnels won't allow us to host the event there as there would be too many under 18s
stoney_stu
You could maybe hire a village hall someplace, depends if you are fixed in Aberdeen, but I'm sure there are halls you could hire in Aberdeen though, give the cooncil a ring. The main issue around these is the Health & Safety requirements etc which can be a bit of a nightmare.
MarkDrummer
Tunnels wouldn't let you play there because of the under 18s things? I could be wrong but I'm sure I want to a gig in Tunnels 1 and there was a 16th birthday party going on in Tunnels 2.I reckon you'd struggle for a venue unless you hired the whole place - Malt Mill capacity is 150 I think. This could be a bit left-field but I'm sure I read you can hire the VIP room in Institute (formally Liquid) for the night for under 18s - whether or not they'd let you have bands there, I'm not sure.
