SOUTHERN TENANT FOLK UNION

STFU are a London-based gospel-influenced sextet playing around with their own mix of oldtime, bluegrass and Celtic folk music. Their exciting live show brings the full all-acoustic sound of banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin and exultant harmonies. Expect up-tempo shit-kickers, mountain-ballad laments and more from this uplifting band of hugely talented soulful musicians.

"An excellent new album a real leap forward for them" Mark Lamarr, BBC Radio 2

"Roots music that knows few boundaries" The List

"A delicate, bruised collection of bluegrass, country & gospel" Uncut

"The musicianship is faultless... I am so proud that it emanates from Britain" Country Music People

"This is a great album (9/10)" Americana UK

"Bar-hopping ballads stuffed with fiddles and banjo." Uncut

"The smoothest, bluegrass tinged, measured acoustic country singing and playing you could wish for this side of the Atlantic." Maverick

"Sounding old as the Appalachians and kicking up a whirl of harmonized soul-searching along the way, STFU know that bad times can lead to good." Plan B

"A compelling mix of bluegrass, gospel, old time and celtic swing that is memorably embellished with warm and richly woven harmonies," The Irish Times

THE BLACK DIAMOND EXPRESS

The BDE a contemporary roots-blues group from Edinburgh made up of 21st Century hobos taking you on a heavy train trip down below. This 'not-so-merry' 9-piece band are made up of banjo, cello, fiddle, harp, percussion, double bass, slide and acoustic guitars and led by the seering vocal of the deeply enigmatic 'Jack of Diamonds'.

Their railroad roots sound reinvents the tradition of the blues into an stunning, mesmerising cacophony of authentic, bellowing sermons delivered in their swaggering, suited live performance which is soaked in poetry, myth and strong bourbon.
