Skull Commander
I bought this on dvd last year and it really is a superb film. I would also recommend 'This Is England' by the same director. Both gritty films with largely unknown casts putting in excellent performances. KimyReizeger
Really liked it. Great portrayal of late twenties, early thirties dropouts. For some reason the most memorable bit for me was when the guy suggests using an empty pot noodle container for beer.

qzdiablo
oh yeah i love this filmgreat visuals, a soundtrack that is right up my street, paddy considine in full "de niro of the midlands"-modei think either this or "a room for romeo brass" is my favourite film by meadows, dude seems to have a talent for getting good performances from kids and relative unknowns
Diesel
"This is England" is absolutely superb and as a completely aimless young kid myself during that era, I can identify. Thomas Turgoose is nothing short of sensational in his role and it'll be interesting to see where he goes from here - a budding Warren Clarke, methinks."Dead Man's Shoes" - a fanciful tale of local gangsters, absued 'tards, vengeful psychotic brothers and Citroen 2CVs - the ideal "date" movie!Pretty intense stuff, with a powerful performance by Mr Considine - the "man in the suitcase" scene being particularly disturbing.Yep, Shane Meadows - top gadgie.
