Alan Cynic
The Grampian life forum has a review of the recent Holy Folks/No Pasaran/Kitchen Cynics night at Craigievar Hall....plus, if you like that sort of thing, 2 Cynical songs (but not from that night's show). You can check it out here...One Night in the Country - North East Scotland Forum on GrampianLife
-matthEw-
nice songs as always Alan. i thought this was a really good night, everyone was on top form and good promoters too. i have a feeling the 12 year olds moshing during Sex, Drugs and Heavy Metal will remain a career-high until i die. Alan Cynic
I thought they were sweet....really well-behaved moshers...Cellar 35 friendly, even!

Anax
It was really good to see some live music out our way... and I've had the Kitchen Cynic's CD 'Dust' on high rotation since I got it at the gig. Great music Alan ... and I'm making that movie clip about North East Scotland I mentioned which will feature one of the Cynical songs.... maybe 'Dreaming Still'.The little moshers were good value... I liked the joke from one of them aimed at the lead of the Holy Folks... "What's the difference between a ginger and a brick?........... a brick gets laid. Anax
Just to let you know I did create a wee movie with photos and clips of North East Scotland, featuring the Kitchen Cynics song 'Dreaming Still'...you can see it here:Communities and businesses in North East ScotlandConsidering I didn't get bored of the song, even after hearing it countless times making the movie, I think I must be a fan. Alan Cynic
A charming wee film! Lots of beautiful images....although the bit when the modern boy's face morphs into the boy in the old photo is a bit unnerving (my favourite section, though!) Anax
There is something very demonic about that transition - a bitty Damien Omen or Richard in Bedlam o_O.
Alan Cynic
.....or 'Jack the Nipper'?
Anax
'Jack the nipper'... a ZX Spectrum character?? The chap in the clip is actually a Belgium godson morphing into an ancestral Lawson family member (from Rhynie I think)... for cross generational dreaming. Alan Cynic
I didn't know about the ZX Spectrum character. If the Lawson boy had a sister, and you 'shrank' her, she'd be a tiny quinie fae Rhynie
