Dan's chord of the day...

Dan G

e-----9-----

b----10-----

g----13-----

d----11-----

a-----9-----

e------------

It plays like an F#minor but with the first three notes in the F#sus2 position... so I guess it would be an F#minor add9. It's a fair stretch but not too tricky.

It works better as an arpeggio due to the semi tone interval between the 13 and 10, and has a great tension to it.

Go on.

Try it.

You know you want to...

That's the ones. Bugger knows what it's called. Sling in the open E as well and use the A,G and E as bass notes, finger picking stylee.

And fuck about with relieving the tension by not playing the B string.

Works for me.

is that right?!?!

well you've got:

A--C#--B--C#--F#

3---5---9--5---1

So yeah, I guess you've got an F#minadd9 with a 3rd on the bass. Cool! (I'll try and remember that)

and yes, its a good job i didnt put Zwan in my listening section altogether

You could but it's not really an inversion cos you would need the 2nd and the minor 3rd in the same octave to create the tension, which is the beauty of the chord.

You're not gonna get the dissonance to emphasise this with a right-hand hammer-on.
