Camie
I recently made a data disc of recent "Lost" episodes(not entirely sure which type of file as I don't know how to check because it basically just says 'video clip' under type) and for some reason my friend can not play these video files even though they work on my computer. There is audio but no video. I am sure they have to download some sort of codec but i am unsure.Anyone know how to solve this at all? EchelonDivision
If you're not using Media Player 10, download it from Microsoft Update. Try googling "K-Lite Codec pack", downloading and installing it... then reboot. If that doesn't work try switching it off and back on again. To see what filetype it is, look at the file extension. If there isn't one:1] Click MY COMPUTER2] From the menubar TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS3] Click the VIEW tab at the top4] Untick the box HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE-TYPES5] Click OK6] Go back the the folder with your video in it and press the F5 key to refresh. This will show all file extensions from now on. Rachie
Tell your friend to download VLC. It's the only thing I'll use to play downloads, it'll play pretty much anything, even if Windows Media spits it out.
