ChameleonSimon
I need to get a 12 string Takamine repaired, the neck has split. It was previously repaired on the continent, but was only glued back together. Repair didn't last very long. Apparently it needs to have dowels inserted. Any ideas where to go? HateEvent
Jimmy Moon in Shawlands, Glasgow. He built my Explorer and is very reputable all around. Either him or Jimmy Egypt from the Academy of Sound in Glasgow too.No guitar shop locally will be able to do structural repairs such as that. soundian
To be honest Simon, you may be better off getting the neck replaced. 12 strings have very high tension in the neck and I suspect that any repair might not last long. Best bet is to get in touch with a luthier, have some photo's ready to send them.
