pete_inthehills
HiJust got back from the gig, how good were they? The support (giveamanakick or something like that) were pretty good, although the stuff they did at the start was definitely better than the songs they finished with.Lots of nice banter from the undertones and supprisingly they didn't leave teenage kicks as their encore. Most entertaining.Pete

When it's that busy you can get some real assholes in, but everyone was chilled and it was great to see a few family crowds in too.Teenage Kicks was great, so happy I've heard it live but I'm relieved they didn't leave it as their encore, it would have been a bit of an obvious nod to John Peel which would have been a bit cheesy in my opinion. Seeing as it wasn't their most famous song until he died.

Scootray
Everyone knew "Teenage Kicks" before John Peel died.If they didn't, then well, they must have been living on some other planet up until that point.
Metarie
Oh well, it's not what i was told by my dad and others, but whatever. I just mean that for a number of people, Teenage Kicks is strongly associated to John Peel, if they'd saved it for the encore it would have seemed like they were giving it a special place simply for that reason.
