Alan Cynic
I was hoping some ultra-kind soul might have an old DAT player I could borrow/hire cheaply for a day or two. I used to have one years ago, but eventually it died, and I replaced it with a mini disc. However I mastered some songs onto DAT, and still haven't transferred these onto another format. (I remixed from 4-track to mini-disc, but the DATs have different mixes, slightly). Here's hoping!!Alan
threeornothing
I'm sure if you chatted up the folks at Captain Toms nice enough they may cut you a deal and do the transfers for you?!
Alan Cynic
Is it definitely DAT they use, or A-DAT, Keilan?
threeornothing
I'm about 300% positive they have a Tascam DA20And yup, its a standard DAT deck I've seen these go for next to nothing (150-200) on ebay!http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21145&item=7514439215&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
Alan Cynic
Thanks! Ideally I'd like to do the copying in my loft/studio, but it's good to know I could try Tom's if no-one else has one.
Compuphonic
I don't mind doing the transfers for you in return for some beer.PM me if you are interested.
Alan Cynic
Very good of you to offer, Compuphonic, however I've been PMd with the offer of a loan of a DAT player by another poster, so all should be well.
