  1. Brilliant...let me know if you're performing soon. I'll come along and if you put 'Not Fade Away' in your set (appropriate), I've learned the harmonica parts so I can stand in for that!! You home now or still roaming the planet?
  2. It could only be you Mr N. Hope you are well.
  3. Guitar George of course - don't know what the 'delusional' reference means unless that's our very own Mr N out there somewhere keeping the world's oil industry going?!!
  4. Yeah that's me ..... give us an email and a mobile no. and we can arrange to get together some time.
  5. got a guy interested in playing bass so it's a good start.....what are you into and what's your thinking.......
  6. If you are happy doing most of the lead playing, we might be able to get something going. See my posting http://www.aberdeen-music.com/threads/new-rock-band-forming-banchory-area.52980/ Have a think and let me know.
  7. Hi. I'm hoping to get a band going in the Banchory area. I'm experienced and do mostly rhythmn and backing vocals. Set lists I have played in the past are rock based - Free, Clapton/Cream, Thin Lizzy, Stones, Who, Van the Man, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Joe Cocker, Doobies, Gary Moore etc. but interested in a varied set including newer material (eg Biffy etc) to gig regularly. I also know a couple of players and a fantastic vocalist who might be interested but all got work commitments etc so need a bit of leeway. Looking for an ideal set up of - rock steady drummer; versatile bass player with a love of rock and a nod to blues and jazz; a skilled lead player; a strong and rich vocal (ideally female). I know there are players in the area (I'm Aboyne based) so come on let's get it together.
  8. Couldn't agree more - so if you are looking for a versatile mainly rhythmn guitarist with some backing vocals, experienced and lots in the repertoire, I'd be interested too. Good luck.
  9. Here's the Gumtree link now. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/marshall-valvestate-vs265-amp/107060140
  10. Marshall Valvestate VS265 Stereo 3 channel Chorus amp including 2 meaty gain channels for different types of valve-like distortion with foot switch for clean, overdrive 1, overdrive 2 and reverb. The amp uses one EL ECC83 valve in the pre-amp stage to get that special sound. It's a great 2x12" 65 watt amp with 2 overdrive channels and a clean channel, with built in reverb giving up to 130 watts of sheer power and drive. The online reviews of this marshall amp speak for themselves (you can view some here: http://www.ultimateguitar.com/reviews/guitar_amplifiers/marshall/vs265/index.html and also http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews-all-97778.html#tabs-menu) Because of the 3 switches at your foot, it is very versatile for gigging and great for clear cleans and for rock with the option of going classic or heavy, and it has some great thrash and crunch settings too which are shown in the operator’s manual. Overall, the amp has some great tone settings and gives you great control over the sounds you get. Have a look at these!! http://www.marshallamps.com/handbooks/pdf/vs265set.pdf More details will be posted on Gumtree and I'll provide the link when it's up.
